A robot system includes a robot and a controller that controls the robot. The robot includes a wheeled platform and a manipulator mounted on the wheeled platform. The manipulator includes a sensor that detects a force or a moment that acts on at least one joint. The controller controls at least one of the manipulator and the wheeled platform on the basis of the force or moment detected by the sensor so that a moment acting on the wheeled platform does not exceed a tip-over moment.

A method for producing an arm structure in which the arm structure is produced by: forming an arm precursor member having an external shape of the arm structure by, in a state in which a die is closed with a metal pipe member being disposed in a cavity thereof, pressurizing the pipe member with liquid supplied to an inside thereof to cause an external surface of the thus expanded pipe member to be pressed against an inner surface of the cavity; and forming a flange portion to be attached to a driven body by machining at least an end of the formed arm precursor member.

A robot arm includes a long cylindrical arm body and mounting interface portions fixed at both sides of the arm body and that are used to mount the robot arm to another member. At least sections of outer surfaces of the arm body and the mounting interface portions are formed of a resin. A first part that has one of the mounting interface portions and a section of the arm body and a second part that has the other one of the mounting interface portions and a section of the arm body are joined to each other.

A control device for a robot includes a comparing unit and a controller. When the robot equipped with a force sensor capable of detecting force components of a same type in a plurality of directions operates, the comparing unit compares a magnitude of each of the force components detected by the force sensor with a predetermined threshold value for each of the directions. If the comparing unit determines that a magnitude of a force component in any of the directions exceeds the threshold value, the controller controls the robot to avoid an increase in the magnitude of the force component in the direction.

A robot that includes a base that is provided with a flat installation surface member that is disposed on an installation target surface and a columnar member that extends upward from the installation surface member; and a first arm, one end of which is supported so as to be rotatable about a first horizontal axis located above the columnar member of the base and that has a motion range below the first horizontal axis. The columnar member has a length that is equal to or longer than the length of the first arm and has a uniform transverse sectional area that is the same as the first arm.

A monitor system for a robot that includes a base installed on an installation surface, and a movable part supported movably with respect to the base, the monitor system including: a sensor that monitors the presence or absence of an object around the robot; and a monitored region control part that controls a monitored region of the sensor based on a motion command signal for the robot. The sensor has the monitored region on each of both sides across a vertical plane that includes a central axis line of the movable parts, and the monitored region control part makes the monitored region at the rear in a moving direction of the movable part smaller than the monitored region at the front in the moving direction of the movable part.

A rotary axis module includes: an input shaft connected to a drive motor; an output shaft, an output shaft flange connected to the output shaft; parallel gears coupled to the output shaft flange; at least two double gears; and a transfer gear that transmits the power of the drive motor to the double gears. A robot including a base having a flat mounting surface section to be set on an installation surface by a fixing part, and also including a movable unit that is movable relative to the base. A connection structure in which a robot link member including a first wall, a second wall facing the first wall with an interval, and a connecting wall connecting the first wall and the second wall is connected with a member to be connected contacting a surface of the first wall of the link member, which does not face the second wall, the connection structure includes a bolt penetrating the first and second walls and including a head part contacting the second wall and a screw part screwed into the member to be connected, and a deformation preventing member sandwiched between the first and second walls by tightening the bolt to prevent or reduce deformation of the walls in a direction in which the walls become closer to each other.
