A rudder angle sensor with high accuracy, including a memory for storing a correction value to correct a rotational delay of a driven gear relative to a main drive gear caused by a backlash at a time of reverse of a steering shaft, a computer for correcting the value measured by the measuring mechanism based on the correction value stored in the memory, to thereby, calculate the rotation angle of the steering shaft. The measured result of the driven gear obtained by the measuring mechanism is corrected based on the correction value, and therefore, the backlash existing between the main drive gear and the driven gear can be matched completely or approximately. Thus, the high accuracy angle sensor is realized.

Rudder angle sensor

Is disclosed an inclination sensor for detecting a tilted state of a case by detecting by a magnetic sensor a magnetized portion of a pendulum type movement mounted rotatably on a shaft in accordance with inclination of the case, wherein the shaft fitted with a clearance in a rotation shaft hole of the movement is further provided at both ends with loosely fitted thereon spacers and mounted in the case. This realizes non-restricted state of both the movement and the shaft. Thus, the movement obtains an improved response characteristic and an increased stability since no oscillation of a running vehicle is transmitted through the shaft to the movement.

Inclination sensor

There is provided a rudder angle sensor that is attached to a steering shaft for measuring an absolute angle of the steering shaft and includes: a coarse signal measuring mechanism and a fine signal measuring mechanism which measure a rotation angle of the steering shaft which rotates a predetermined number of times, the coarse signal measuring mechanism outputting a coarse signal and the fine signal measuring mechanism outputting a fine signal; and a calculating mechanism which calculates the absolute angle of the steering shaft based on coarse signal measurement data and fine signal measurement data converted from the coarse signal and the fine signal respectively, wherein the calculating mechanism is constituted by including an abnormal data detecting and eliminating unit which detects and eliminates abnormal data deviating from a predetermined range from the measurement data.
