A recording and/or reproducing apparatus includes a recording medium accommodation table including recording medium accommodation portions each capable of accommodating a recording medium, a recording medium drive unit on which the recording medium is removably mounted and which is capable of performing recording and/or reproduction of an information signal onto and/or from it, a mechanical chassis that supports the recording medium accommodation table to freely rotate and also support the recording medium drive unit to be movable, a drive-moving unit that moves the recording medium drive unit closer to and away from the recording medium accommodation table, and a recording medium transport unit that transports the recording medium between a recording medium mounting and removing position of a recording medium-mounting portion and a recording medium accommodation position of the recording medium accommodation portions.

Recording and/or reproducing apparatus

A print head which includes at least two discharge nozzle lines arranged on at least two lines, out of a base line corresponding to a radial direction of the rotating print object and at least one offset lines parallel to the base line, discharges ink drops of the same color from discharge nozzles of the discharge nozzle lines, moves the print head so as to minutely move the discharge nozzle lines on the base line or the offset lines, and discharges ink drops of the same color from the discharge nozzles passing through second paths moved minutely from the first paths over the rotating print object. In this way, the ink drops are discharged on the area where print defects are caused because the area is not on the paths of the discharge nozzles before the discharge nozzles are minutely moved.

A recording medium changer includes a plurality of storage trays that are arranged in alignment in a predetermined direction and each store a recording medium, and a conveying mechanism that is movable in an alignment direction of the plurality of storage trays and conveys a recording medium. The plurality of storage trays are rotatable about an axis extending in the alignment direction of the storage trays. At the time of rotation of each of the storage trays, the conveying mechanism is held in a movement preparing position retracted in the alignment direction from the storage tray that is being rotated. Each of the storage trays has a movement cutout for forming at least a part of a movement space through which the conveying mechanism is moved.

Recording medium changer and reproducing apparatus

A hard disk apparatus wherein one of two second actuators is expanded and the other is simultaneously contracted to bend a supporting member in a width direction orthogonal to a length direction of the supporting member to generate a displacement and a vibration of the supporting member in the direction orthogonal to the length direction. When a smooth surface of a magnetic head sticks to a record surface of a magnetic disk, the magnetic head receives a force in the width direction of the supporting member in a plane substantially parallel to the record surface by the expansion and contraction operation of the second actuators to reduce the sticking between the magnetic head and the record surface.

Hard disk apparatus

A tape loading arrangement includes supply and take-up reel tables, a rotating magnetic head drum, a capstan motor, sliders including tape guides and a pendulum gear for engaging limiter gears associated with each of the reel tables. Magnetic torque limiters are provided at each of the reel tables and the torque ranges of each of the reel tables are set individually, the supply reel having a wider torque range than the take-up reel. According to this construction, the capstan motor generally controls the pendulum gear to engage the supply reel during a tape loading operation, wherein tape to be wound around the head drum is extracted from the take-up reel of the tape cassette. However, if the tape cassette is in a fully rewound state at which there is no tape available on the take-up reel, the capstan motor urges the pendulum gear to engage the limiter gear of the take-up reel table such that the tape may be extracted from the supply reel side and loading may be accomplished without delay no matter what the state of winding of the tape within the tape cassette.
