It is possible to provide the heat resistant material and coating material for OA equipment which comprise a fluorine-containing multi-segment polymer having heat resistance, abrasion resistance, non-sticking property against toner and oil resistance in addition to flexibility and are used particularly on surfaces of fuser roll and belt. Those materials comprise a fluorine-containing multi-segment polymer having an elastomeric fluorine-containing polymer chain segment A and a non-elastomeric fluorine-containing polymer chain segment B, and the elastomeric fluorine-containing polymer chain segment A comprises not less than 90% by mole of perhaloolefin unit as a recurring unit and imparts flexibility to the whole polymer.

A thermoplastic resin composition comprising a blend obtainable by blending 0.1 to 99% by weight of (a) a fluorine-containing polymer having a number-average molecular weight of 2000 to 1000000 and having hydroxy group or epoxy group at least at one of end portions of a main chain and side chain of the polymer, and 1 to 99.9% by weight of (b) a heat resisting thermoplastic resin having a crystalline melting point or glass transition temperature of not less than 150&#xb0; C. The present invention can provide a composition comprising various heat resisting thermoplastic resins and a fluorine-containing polymer having a functional group which is capable of developing an affinity with said resins and forming a uniform dispersion.

To provide the method of forming the thin coating film of fluorine-containing polymer having heat resistance and non-sticking property by adhering directly to a substrate without lowering characteristics such as reflection and light transmission which the substrate has. The structural member of the present invention comprises (A) a layer which comprises a fluorine-containing polymer and does not contain an adhesive material other than the fluorine-containing polymer substantially and (B) a substrate, in which the layer (A) is adhered directly to the substrate (B) without interposing a binder therebetween and a longitudinal shear strength between the layer (A) comprising a fluorine-containing polymer and the substrate (B) is not less than 0.98 N/mm at 150&deg; C. The structural member comprising a fluorine-containing polymer and a substrate adhered to each other, particularly the structural member having improved adhesive strength at high temperature and the sliding material produced by using the structural member are provided.

A heat resistant scattering-preventing composite material is produced by applying, to a substrate, a material comprising a fluorine-containing ethylenic polymer having functional group which is prepared by copolymerizing (a) 0.05 to 30% by mole of at least one of fluorine-containing ethylenic monomers having at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, carboxyl, a carboxylic salt group, a carboxylic ester group and epoxy, and (b) 70 to 99.95% by mole of at least one of fluorine-containing ethylenic monomers which do not have said functional group. The heat resistant scattering-preventing composite material is produced by applying, to the substrate, the material comprising the fluorine-containing polymer having an excellent adhesive property to the substrate without necessitating complicated steps.

To provide a fluorine-containing adhesive which maintains thermal resistance, chemical resistance, weather resistance and electric insulating property and has strong adhesive property directly to substrates particularly metal and glass, and an adhesive film and laminated article which are obtained by using the fluorine-containing adhesive. A composite material having sliding property is produced by applying, to a substrate, a material comprising a fluorine-containing ethylenic polymer having functional group which is prepared by copolymerizing (a) 0.05 to 30% by mole of at least one of fluorine-containing ethylenic monomers having at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, carboxyl, a carboxylic salt group, a carboxylic ester group and epoxy, and (b) 70 to 99.95% by mole of at least one of fluorine-containing ethylenic monomers having no functional group mentioned above. The composite material having sliding property which is produced by applying, to the substrate, the material comprising the fluorine-containing polymer having an excellent adhesive property to the substrate without necessitating complicated steps.

To provide a fluorine-containing coating material which gives excellent adhesive strength directly to a substrate such as metal, glass, etc. with maintaining excellent characteristics of the fluorine-containing polymer such as thermal resistance, chemical resistance, non-sticking property and low friction property, and a method for coating the material. The fluorine-containing coating material is prepared by using a fluorine-containing ethylenic polymer having functional group which is obtained by copolymerizing (a-1) 0.05 to 30% by mole of at least one of fluorine-containing ethylenic monomers having any one of functional groups selected from hydroxyl, carboxyl, carboxylate salt group, carboxylate ester group or epoxy and (b-1) 70 to 99.95% by mole of at least one of fluorine-containing ethylenic monomers having no functional group mentioned above.

A fluorine-containing adhesive comprising a fluorine-containing ethylenic polymer (A) having functional group which has a crystalline melting point or glass transition temperature of not more than 270&deg; C. and is prepared by copolymerizing (a) 0.05 to 30% by mole of at least one of fluorine-containing ethylenic monomers having at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of carboxyl and a carboxylic salt group and (b) 70 to 99.95% by mole of at least one of fluorine-containing ethylenic monomers which do not have the above-mentioned functional group and is copolymerizable with the component (a). To provide the fluorine-containing adhesive maintaining chemical resistance, solvent resistance, weather resistance and stain-proofing property and giving direct strong adhesion particularly to a substrate of metal, glass, resin, etc. and an adhesive film and laminated article which are produced from the fluorine-containing adhesive.
