An image forming apparatus includes a loading portion that is capable of receiving a recording sheet. The loading portion includes a correction member which has a bending portion, wherein the bending portion selectively moves between a first position and a second position, the second position being located higher than the first position, and a stopper that selectively moves between a closed position and an open position in which the stopper extends upward at a predetermined angle with respect to a horizontal surface when the stopper is at the open position.

An image forming device having a sheet conveying path extending from a feeder unit to an image forming unit. A convey roller positioned downstream of the sheet supply roller is rotated at a peripheral speed V3. Additional convey roller positioned downstream of the first convey roller is rotated at a peripheral speed V2 lower than V3. A register roller positioned downstream of the second convey roller is rotated at a peripheral speed V1 lower than V2. A transfer roller of the image forming unit is rotated at a peripheral speed V0 lower than V1. Each convey roller, the register roller, the sheet supply roller is connected to each clutch. Sheet sensors are provided between neighboring rollers for detecting a leading edge of the sheet. A cover member is openably and closeably mounted on the cabinet for lying over the unit. A rib is provided in the rear surface of the cover member, and an abutment block is provided in the openable/closable unit. The rib is brought to abutment with the block when the cover member is closed, while the abutment block is brought to abutment with the rib when the openable/closable unit is moved from the closed position to the open position. The cover is openable in accordance with the opening movement of the openable/closable unit through abutment of the rib and block whereas it is closable in accordance with the closing movement of the cover member through the abutment thereof.

Disclosed herewith is a printing apparatus for use in a cash register or the like, in which a receipt sheet and a journal sheet are disposed in parallel to each other on a platen that defines a print line and a movable printing body including a printing head which reciprocates along the platen to perform its printing operation selectively on the receipt and journal sheets in regions respectively facing these sheets. The line-feeding operation of the receipt sheet is controlled to be carried out when the printing head is located at least partially in the region facing the receipt sheet, whereby the line-feeding of the receipt sheet can be performed without interfering with the movement of the movable printing body.
