A control device, for an engine provided in a vehicle, is configured to change a rotation speed limit value for the engine from a first rotation speed limit value to a second rotation speed limit value higher than the first rotation speed limit value, when a circuit mode is selected as a driving mode of the vehicle, and the control device is configured to transmit first meter display control information to a meter control device controlling a display device provided in a vehicle cabin of the vehicle on a basis of the second rotation speed limit value.

The hybrid electric vehicle includes an engine, a motor, a clutch, an accelerator operation amount detecting unit, and a control device. The control device is configured to include: a determination unit configured to determine whether or not the accelerator operation amount is equal to or greater than a threshold value when there is a start request for the engine; and an ignition timing control unit configured to advance an ignition timing of the engine, when an affirmative determination is made by the determination unit, than when a negative determination is made by the determination unit.

A vehicle controller includes processing circuitry configured to execute a counter updating process, first and second starting processes, and a resetting process. The resetting process includes resetting the crank counter when a crank counter has a value outside of a range corresponding to a tooth-missing portion in a case in which a magnitude of a difference obtained by subtracting a value of a pre-update crank counter from the value of the crank counter that was increased by receiving the pulse signal in the counter updating process is greater than a first threshold value corresponding to a specified angle. The resetting process further includes resetting the crank counter when the crank counter has a value within the range corresponding to the tooth-missing portion in a case in which the magnitude of the difference is greater than a second threshold value that is greater than the first threshold value.

Vehicle controller and vehicle control method

A controller executes a first restarting process when restarting of an engine is requested under a condition where an engine speed is less than a determination speed. In the first restarting process, cranking of the engine is performed by a motor generator in a state in which the motor generator is connected to a crankshaft through engagement of a clutch, and fuel injection and ignition are initiated in the engine when a combustion initiation condition is satisfied in this state. The controller executes a second restarting process when restarting of the engine is requested under a condition where the engine speed is greater than or equal to the determination speed. In the second restarting process, fuel injection and ignition are initiated in the engine, and the motor generator is connected to the crankshaft through engagement of the clutch after the engine has been restarted.

In start control for controlling an engine, a motor, and a clutch, a target throttle valve opening degree is set based on a rotational speed of the motor and a coolant temperature of the engine to control the engine such that the clutch is half-engaged to crank the engine by the motor, and fuel injection and ignition of the engine are started after a rotational speed difference between the rotational speed of the motor and a rotational speed of the engine becomes smaller than a threshold value and the clutch is engaged.

Hybrid electric vehicle propulsion start control

A control device for a hybrid vehicle that includes an internal combustion engine, a motor, and a clutch provided between the internal combustion engine and the motor includes a first start control unit that starts the internal combustion engine by causing the motor to perform cranking, a second start control unit that starts the internal combustion engine without causing the motor to perform cranking, and a setting unit that sets a threshold for a rotational speed of the internal combustion engine according to a vehicle speed of the hybrid vehicle. When the rotational speed of the internal combustion engine is less than the threshold, the first start control unit starts the internal combustion engine. A controller and a control method for an internal combustion engine, and a memory medium are provided. In a first combustion cylinder, first combustion is caused by control circuitry when the engine is restarted from a state where fuel combustion in cylinders is suspended. An automatic stopping process suspends the fuel combustion in the cylinders and controls a throttle valve to a closed state when a predetermined condition is satisfied. A first calculation process calculates an amount of fuel injected into the first combustion cylinder based on a position of the piston in the first combustion cylinder in a case where a rotation speed of a crankshaft obtained when the restart was requested is zero. A second calculation process calculates the injection amount based on the rotation speed in a case where the rotation speed obtained when the restart was requested is higher than zero.

Electric devices of a vehicle are divided into groups according to a magnitude of electric power used by each of the electric devices. The number of the groups is smaller than the number of the electric devices. A controller for the vehicle stores in advance different correction amounts respectively associated with the groups. The controller is configured to, when the number of operating ones of the electric devices belonging to the same group is equal to or greater than a predetermined specified number, perform an increase process of increasing an engine rotation speed of an internal combustion engine by the correction amount associated with the group in which the number of the operating ones of the electric devices is equal to or greater than the specified number.

A first arrival flow rate that is a flow rate of evaporative fuel gas that has arrived in a throttle downstream portion located downstream of a throttle valve in an intake pipe via a second purge passage after passing through a purge control valve is estimated based on a valve passage flow rate that is a flow rate of evaporative fuel gas that has passed through the purge control valve, and a first response delay in the flow of evaporative fuel gas through a route extending from the purge control valve to the throttle downstream portion via the second purge passage.

Engine apparatus

During execution of a purge, a purge concentration-related value is learned based on an air-fuel ratio deviation that is a deviation of an air-fuel ratio detected by an air-fuel ratio sensor from a required air-fuel ratio. In this case, the purge concentration-related value is updated using an update amount with a smaller absolute value when the purge is a second purge of supplying evaporated fuel gas to an intake pipe through a second purge passage than when the purge is a first purge of supplying the evaporated fuel gas to the intake pipe through a first purge passage.

Engine device

When first switching of switching from a first purge of supplying evaporated fuel gas to an intake pipe through a first purge passage to a second purge of supplying the evaporated fuel gas to the intake pipe through a second purge passage occurs and then second switching of switching from the second purge to the first purge occurs, a purge concentration-related value is corrected to a value closer to a first stored value that is the purge concentration-related value immediately before the first switching than to a second stored value that is the purge concentration-related value immediately before the second switching.

Fuel injection control of an engine is executed by setting a required injection amount and an air-fuel ratio correction amount. When setting conditions are met, the air-fuel ratio correction amount is set for a corresponding region to which a current intake air amount or load ratio belongs among a plurality of regions into which the range of the intake air amount or the load ratio is divided such that a region of a larger intake air amount or a higher load ratio becomes wider than a region of a smaller intake air amount or a lower load ratio. When purge conditions are met, a purge control valve is controlled such that purge of supplying an evaporated fuel gas to an intake pipe is executed based on a required purge ratio.

When a predetermined condition is satisfied, a flow rate ratio of a first passage flow rate to a second passage flow rate is estimated based on a throttle post pressure being a pressure on a downstream side of an intake pipe with respect to a throttle valve and an ejector pressure being a pressure of a suction port of an ejector. The first passage flow rate is a flow rate of an evaporated fuel gas flowing in a first purge passage. The second passage flow rate is a flow rate of the evaporated fuel gas flowing in a second purge passage. The first passage flow rate and the second passage flow rate are estimated based on the flow rate ratio and a valve passing flow rate being a flow rate of the evaporated fuel gas that passes through a purge control value.
