A motor includes a rotor and a stator. A shaft of the rotor is received in a sleeve. A face of the sleeve and a face of the shaft, that are opposed to each other, form a bearing supporting the rotor in a rotatable manner relative to the stator. A sleeve-retaining portion that retains the sleeve has a bottom portion opposed to an axial end of the sleeve. A magnet holder is arranged in the bottom portion to accommodate an attracting magnet magnetically attracting the axial end of the shaft. The magnet holder is held between the axial end of the sleeve and the bottom portion of the sleeve-retaining portion.

Motor

A method for manufacturing a heat sink for use in a heat sink fan is provided. A heat-sink base portion defining a central axis and a circumferential surface is formed. A plurality of heat-radiating fins is formed on the circumferential surface of the base portion. Each of the heat radiating fins extends away from the central axis and defines at least one radially distal edge. After the base portion and the heat-radiating fins are formed, a distal-edge protrusion or a recess is formed on or in at least one of the heat radiating fins by a machining process, so as to form partially along the envelope of the heat sink at least one discrete engagement feature.

Method for manufacturing heat sink for use in heat sink fan

A heat sink fan of the present invention includes a heat sink and an axial flow fan, and the axial flow fan includes a motor, an impeller and a housing. An outer wall surface of a cylindrical portion of the housing is formed with an arm which engages with the heat sink and fixes the housing and the heat sink. The arm is provided with a lead wire retaining hook. A interspace is formed between the lead wire retaining hook and the arm, and the lead wire is detachably held in the interspace. The packing or transportation operation is enhanced, and convenience of mounting operation of the lead wire to electronic equipment is enhanced.

Heat sink fan

A heat sink fan includes a heat sink () that is placed on a heat generating electrical component and a fan motor unit () having an axial flow fan () for supplying cooling air to the heat sink (). A engaging portions () of an arm portions () of the fan motor unit () is engaged with a recesses () of the heat sink (). Thus, movement of the fan motor unit () in the axial direction of the heat sink () is restricted so that the fan motor unit () is attached to the heat sink () securely.

A vacuum cleaner includes an automated air quantity adjusting mechanism which has good linearity and has no hysteresis. The automated air quantity adjusting mechanism includes an exhaust opening section 7a formed within a cylindrical body 7. A flange 26 provides the exhaust opening section 7a at the lower section of a supporting body 6 which supports an electric generator 9. A guide shaft 21 is provided at a central section of the exhaust opening section 7a in a standing manner which guide shaft has a stopper member 24 at its uppermost edge section. The mechanism further includes a circular plate shaped valve 22 in which the guide shaft 21 is passed therethrough, and a returning coil spring 25 for pushing the valve 22 towards the stopper 24. The valve 22 is moved downward by negative pressure within an air suction passage 2 so that a distance between the valve 22 and the exhaust opening section 7a is changed and an air quantity flowing towards the air suction passage 2 through the exhaust opening section 7a is adjusted.

Vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner includes a controlling valve in a ventilating path to a runner of an electric generator which rotates respondingly to a suction force, a rotating angle of the controlling valve is varied corresponding to an increase of the suction force so that an increase of the air flow across the runner is suppressed, thus an increase of a voltage generated by the electric generator is suppressed.

Generator system for a vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner rotates a propeller fan by its suction force. The propeller fan rotates a rotor of a d.c. electric energy generator so as to generate electrical energy, and a d.c. voltage corresponding to the suction force is obtained by the generation. The vacuum cleaner employs the d.c. voltage as an operating voltage for a dust sensor and the peripheral circuitry thereof. The vacuum cleaner compares the d.c. voltage with a constant voltage output from a constant-voltage circuit by a comparing circuitry. The vacuum cleaner lowers the gain of an amplifying circuitry based upon a signal output from the comparing circuitry in correspondance to an increasing of the d.c. voltage obtained by the d.c. electric energy generator. The amplifying circuitry amplifies output of the dust sensor. The vacuum cleaner automatically determines detection sensitivity to be a proper sensitivity. The detection sensitivity is the sensitivity for detecting dust, based upon an output from the dust sensor.
