A robot arm supporting a workpiece, a support mechanism in a form of a coordinate measuring machine supporting a detector head, and a fixation portion in a form of a contact block fixing the detector head to the workpiece are used to bring the contact block fixed to a table and the workpiece into contact to each other. The detector head measures the workpiece while a relative position of the detector head and the workpiece is fixed.

Measurement station and measurement method

A multiplexed system including at least two microcomputers operable in parallel with each other, and watch dog timers. One of the watch dog timers is connected for receipt of an input signal from one of the microcomputers to check a program run-away condition in the one microcomputer. The other watch dog timer is connected for receipt of an input signal from the other microcomputer to check a program run-away condition in the other microcomputer. The one microcomputer checks the other watch dog timer, and the other microcomputer checks the one watch dog time. Calculation results are fed from the respective microcomputers to a comparator circuit which produces an output signal from the multiplexed system. When the one microcomputer checks the other watch dog timer, the input signal from the other microcomputer to the other watch dog timer is interrupted. The other watch dog timer is checked based on an operating condition of the other microcomputer. The calculation result fed from the other microcomputer to the comparator circuit is interrupted while the other watch dog timer is checked.

A digital image forming apparatus which detects a center of a book document when reading and writing an image of the document, including a document, a document board on which the document is set, a reading device for reading the document by scanning the document, an A/D converter for converting an analog signal which is read by the reading device to a digital signal, a signal processor for processing the digital signal, including a first detector for detecting the existence of a dark portion in the image of the document and judging the document to be a book document if the document image has the dark portion, based on the signal corresponding to at least two lines on the document in a scanning direction, or in a direction perpendicular to the scanning direction and a second detector for detecting a center portion of the document on the basis of each center dark portion of each signal of the lines if the document is judged to be a book document, and a writing device for writing the digital signal on a photoconductive element in relation to the detected center portion. Edge portions of the document can similarly be detected and used in writing an image of the document so that an unnecessary part of the book document can be erased with simple structure and operation.

A digital noise eliminator whose noise elimination time (noise pulse width or noise frequency) can be determined by the shift time of a shift register activated in response to a reference clock comprises a shift circuit for transmitting an input signal at a second time of the up-edge of the clock as an output signal, only when at least two up-edges of the clock are included in the single input signal, after the input signal has been inputted, and for eliminating noise when only one up-edge of the clock is included in the single input signal; a setting circuit for setting the shift circuit when the input and output signal levels are both at high level; and a reset circuit for resetting the shift circuit when the input and output signal levels are both at low level.

A peel-apart type instant photographic apparatus using a negative film and a positive sheet. The apparatus has a dark box for developing and accommodating the negative film and positive sheet, or supply, joined together and having a developer spread therebetween. The dark box is removable from the apparatus body and, therefore, easy to clean and handle. When the dark box is not mounted on the apparatus body in predetermined conditions, a printing operation is inhibited to eliminate the waste of negative sheets and positive sheets. A printing operation is also inhibited when the supply is left in the dark box.

A parallel comparison type A/D converter having a hysterisis is disclosed in which a reference voltage level for comparing with an input analog signal is switched according to a digital converted signal so that the output digital value has a hysterisis characteristic with respect to the input analog signal. Thus, no flickers or chattering in a displayed segment of a display unit occurs when the input analog signal has a value in close to one of the reference voltages to be compared.

A digital speedometer includes a pulse counter, a timing pulse generator, an indicator register, a display, and a comparator for comparing the magnitude relationship between a counted value counted by the pulse counter and the memorized value of the indicator register, two counters in addition to the pulse counter, and a plurality of logic circuits. The comparator generates signals indicative of the magnitude relationship between the counted value and the memorized value. The two counters may output a first or second gate signal respectively to the AND gate connected to the indicator register, in response to the signals output from the comparator at a predetermined time cycle depending upon the gate time controlled by the timing pulse generator, in such a manner so as to renew the memorized value with the counted value only when the number of occurrences of the output of the first or second signals reaches a preset number thereof. The digital speedometer further comprises a decision circuit for renewing the memorized value with the counted value of the pulse counter only when the memorized value is 0, regardless of the number of occurrences of the output of the first or second signals counted by either of the two counters.

An apparatus for measuring the frequency of a pulse train signal and method therefor applicable to a speedometer of a vehicle are disclosed in which a count value C of at least one counter which counts number of pulses in the pulse train signal for predetermined counting intervals of time .DELTA.T (=T/n, wherein T denotes a frequency measuring time interval and n denotes a calculation constant) is updated to a value related to the count value for each predetermined counting interval of time .DELTA.T and stored and outputted for each predetermined counting interval of time .DELTA.T so that the same or better performance as that using a stagger ring method can be achieved. The value is expressed by (C-C/.alpha.) in a first preferred embodiment (wherein .alpha. denotes the calculation constant preferably equal to n), by (C-C.times.m/.alpha.+D) in a second preferred embodiment (wherein m denotes the number of counters and D denotes the latest count values of the m counters during .DELTA.T at the time of update), by (C-M.sub.1 .times.C/.alpha.+M.sub.2 D) in a third preferred embodiment (wherein M.sub.1 and M.sub.2 denotes values determined according to a change rate of the count value C of the counter with respect to time and D denotes the latest count value of the counter for .DELTA.T at the time of update), and by (C-C/M) in a fourth preferred embodiment (wherein M denotes a value determined according to a change rate of the count value C of the counter with respect to time).

Apparatus and method for measuring the frequency of a pulse signal

An apparatus for testing a cross-coil instrument having a pointer, a sensor for sensing a condition to produce a sensor signal indicative of the sensed condition, and a converter coupled to the sensor for converting the sensor signal to a deflection of the pointer. The apparatus comprises a fault detector coupled to the sensor for detecting a disconnection fault to produce a command signal, and a test signal generator responsive to the command signal for generating a predetermined test signal to the converter, thereby moving the pointer to a predetermined position. The operation accuracy of the cross-coil instrument may be checked from the difference between the actual and predetermined pointer positions when a connector provided in a signal line between the sensor and the fault detector is pulled out.

Cross-oil instrument having testing apparatus for vehicular sensor

A copier capable of binding copy papers at their center or their edge as desired. A bookbinding device is operatively connected to a paper outlet of the copier. To bind the papers at their center, a folding mechanism of the bookbinding device is activated first in order to form a crease along the center of each copy paper. Then, a binding mechanism of the bookbinding device is activated to sequentially stack the papers in an upwardly convex form and such that the creases face upward in alignment and, then, stitch the papers together along the aligned creases by means of a staple or the like. The bound papers are discharged to a stacking mechanism of the bookbinding device in a developed position so as to be stacked there while being folded double in the creases. When it is desired to duplicate documents on papers which are equal to or double the size of the documents and bind the copies at the center, a positional relationship between the documents and the papers is set up by a unique method.

A copier capable of binding copy papers at their center or their edge as desired. A bookbinding device is operatively connected to a paper outlet of the copier. To bind the papers at their center, a folding mechanism of the bookbinding device is activated first in order to form a crease along the center of each copy paper. Then, a binding mechanism of the bookbinding device is activated to sequentially stack the papers in an upwardly convex form and such that the creases face upward in alignment and, then, stich the papers together along the aligned creases by means of a stapler or the like. The bound papers are discharged to a stacking mechanism of the bookbinding device in a developed position so as to be stacked there while being folded double in the creases.
