A differential transmission connector unit is disclosed that includes a first differential transmission connector including a first electrically insulating block body; and first signal contact pairs and first ground contacts arranged alternately in a row in the first block body; and a second differential transmission connector including a second electrically insulating block body; and second signal contact pairs and second ground contacts arranged alternately in a row in the second block body. The first differential transmission connector is connected to the second differential transmission connector with the first signal contact pairs and the second signal contact pairs being in contact with each other and the first ground contacts and the second ground contacts being in contact with each other. One of the contact surface of each first ground contact and the contact surface of the corresponding second ground contact is a rolled surface, the contact surfaces contacting each other.

Connector unit for differential transmission

A disclosed optical waveguide holding device is attached onto a printed circuit board of an optical transceiver that performs conversion between an electric signal and an optical signal. The optical waveguide holding device holds an optical waveguide between an external optical fiber and a photoelectric conversion unit attached onto or formed on the printed circuit board. The optical waveguide holding device includes a first connection part configured to optically connect a first end of the optical waveguide to a light receiving/emitting part of the photoelectric conversion unit; a second connection part configured to optically connect a second end of the optical waveguide to the external optical fiber; an optical fiber forming the optical waveguide, disposed between the first end and the second end of the optical waveguide; a first holder configured to hold the optical fiber on a side of the first end; and a second holder configured to hold the optical fiber on a side of the second end.

Optical waveguide holding device and optical transceiver

An optical transceiver using an optical waveguide holding member is disclosed. The optical transceiver includes a printed circuit board and the optical waveguide holding member. Photoelectric conversion elements are formed in the printed circuit board. An optical waveguide including core members is formed in the optical waveguide holding member. The optical waveguide optically connects the photoelectric conversion elements to external optical fibers. An element side lens is formed at one end of the core member so as to face a light receiving and emitting section of the photoelectric conversion element. Flanges are formed on the corresponding side walls of the optical waveguide holding member. The fixed centers of the flanges and optical centers of the element side lenses are arrayed on the same straight line.

Optical waveguide holding member and optical transceiver

A connector comprises: a shield cover; a connector module housed in the shield cover; an insertion portion disposed at a tip thereof, the insertion portion being configured to be inserted into a destination connector and having signal contacts and ground contacts arranged; and a cable extending from a rear end of the connector. The connector module includes a printed board, the signal contacts, and the ground contacts. The printed board includes signal and ground patterns on front and rear faces, the signal pattern having pads for signal contacts and the ground pattern having pads for ground contacts. The signal contacts are formed based on the pads for signal contacts and fixed on the pads for signal contacts. The ground contacts are formed based on the pads for ground contacts and fixed on the pads for ground contacts. The insertion portion is formed at an end of the printed board.

Connector

A connector includes multiple pairs of signal contacts arranged in a housing, and facilitates the wiring design and the wiring operation for substrates. The two signal contacts in each of the multiple pairs are arranged at a distance in the longitudinal direction of the housing. With this arrangement, excellent coupling can be established between the two signal contacts, and signals can be balanced-transmitted without causing a phase difference. Also, the lengths of each pair of wires of a wiring substrate to be connected to the multiple pairs of signal contacts can be easily made uniform. Accordingly, there is no need to prepare excessive wiring areas, and the substrate wiring design and the wiring operation can be simplified.

A connector assembly including a jack connector and a plug connector. Each of the jack and plug connectors includes plural pairs of signal contact elements, the pairs being arranged parallel with each other in an array, and the signal contact elements of each of the pairs being arranged opposite to each other; plural ground contact elements, each of which is used as a shield to reduce crosstalk between two parallel the pairs of signal contact elements arranged side by side, the plural pairs of signal contact elements and the plural ground contact elements being alternately arranged in a row; and an electro-insulating body for supporting the signal contact elements and the ground contact elements in a mutually insulated arrangement. It is advantageous that each pair of signal contact elements is used for a balanced transmission line.
