Disclosed is an improvement in an electric connector for connecting two spaced apart parallel printed circuit boards having a plurality of needle-like pin terminals arranged laterally at regular intervals between its upper and lower wafers, the upper and lower extensions of the needle-like pin terminals extend beyond the upper and lower wafers being connected to selected conductors on upper and lower printed circuit boards. According to the present invention the needle-like pin terminals freely pass through the longitudinal pin-receiving openings made in the upper and lower wafers, and metal tie rods are press-fit in opposite longitudinal rod-insertion apertures made at the opposite ends of the upper and lower wafers, and are detachably fixed thereto, thereby constituting a rigid integrity. If it is desired that another couple of printed circuit boards are to be separated a shorter or longer distance, the pin terminals and tie-rods are simply removed from the upper and lower wafers, and the ones of appropriate length for spanning the shorter or longer distance are inserted in the upper and lower wafers.

Electric connector for printed circuit boards

A retention system is provided for an electrical connector mountable to a printed circuit board. The connector is elongated and has opposite ends and elongated sides extending therebetween. At least one retention member is provided for securing the connector to the printed circuit board. The retention member includes a generally U-shaped portion defining a pair of leg sections extending in the longitudinal direction of the connector generally parallel to the printed circuit board, and a bight section joining the leg sections generally perpendicular to the printed circuit board. A recess is provided in one elongated side of the connector complementarily shaped for receiving the U-shaped portion of the retention member inserted into the recess from one side of the connector. A bottom one of the leg sections is roughened and generally planar for surface mounting to the printed circuit board, with the recess being open at the bottom thereof for exposing the bottom leg section.

The wireless remote controller has a plurality of operation selection keys and is designed to operate in such manner that when the controller is directed toward one of the devices under control and any one of the operation mode selection keys is depressed, a corresponding operation mode signal is generated and transmitted to a device under control. The operation mode signal includes a series of consecutive signal components for operating all the devices under control. Disclosed is an electrical connector comprising a multi-terminal plug and multi-terminal socket in which each female terminal is composed of a contact section, a solder tail section and intermediate curved joint integrally connected to the contact section and the soldering tail section. The curved joint of each female terminal will be yieldingly bent when an external force is applied to push the male terminal in the female terminal, thereby absorbing the external force and preventing deformation of the solder tail section, and hence peeling-off or cracking of solder at the solder tail. The intermediate curved section will also permit the contact section to float in order to compensate for the misalignment of the contact section relative to its mating pin.

Disclosed is an improvement of board-to-board connection type electric connector which comprises: a terminal housing having terminals laterally arranged and fixed at regular intervals with two contact legs of each terminal exposed from the housing; a connector casing to accommodate the terminal housing loosely; means to hold the underlying printed board in contact with the lower contact legs of the terminals; and means to retain resiliently the overlying printed board in the contact position with upper contact legs of the terminals. Thus, a required electrical connection can be made without soldering numerous small terminals of the connector to printed circuits. Therefore, arrangement of numerous small terminals at narrow intervals will cause no difficulty in making a required electrical connection.

Board-to-board connecton type electric connector

An electrical connector used for interconnecting one or more conductors on the same or different printed circuit boards comprising two mold members having terminal bodies with each end inserted into the mold members until they protrude from the bottom and with a bent portion between the mold members maintaining a distance greater than the distance required to insert the mold members and terminal bodies into through holes of a printed circuit board. The connector is used in conjunction with a pair of chuck members and a stop member to place the connector mold members in alignment so that the protruding terminal portions can be accurately inserted into through holes of a printed circuit board with the use of automatic robot means.

A hingeable connector assembly includes at least one female terminal mounted in a terminal mounting space formed in a female connector housing and at least one male terminal member mounted in a male connector housing. The female terminal and said male terminal are rotatable relative to each other while electrically mated.

Hingeable connector

An electrical connector assembly for electrically connecting insulation-clad ribbon cable to a circuit member. The connector assembly includes a female connector, which is connected to the ribbon cable, and a male connector or header, which is connected to said circuit member, and is adapted to mate with the female connector. Selectively removeable strain relief means are provided as part of the female connector. The male connector has a pair of improved, pivotly mounted manually manipulatable lever means for selectively ejecting or locking the female connector with the male connector. The lever means can positively lock and mate the female connector to the male connector whether or not the strain relief means is mounted on the female connector.
