A coil component has a winding core part, and a plurality of wires that are wound on the winding core part to form a plurality of layers. The wires each include a conductor and a covering film that covers the conductor, an outer diameter of the wire of an n-th layer ('n' is an integer that is two or greater) is smaller than an outer diameter of the wire of an (n&#x2212;1)th layer, an outer diameter of the conductor of the wire of the n-th layer is equal to an outer diameter of the conductor of the wire of the (n&#x2212;1)th layer, and a thickness of the covering film of the wire of the n-th layer is smaller than a thickness of the covering film of the wire of the (n&#x2212;1)th layer.

Coil component

A core for a wire-wound electronic component. The core has a winding base to be wound with a wire, and flanges located at both ends of the winding base in an extending direction of the winding base. The flanges protrude from the winding base in a first direction perpendicular to the extending direction. Each of the flanges has a plurality of protrusions on a first surface at a side of the flange in the first direction. An inclined surface is provided to extend from the first surface of each of the flanges to a second surface of the winding base at a side of the winding base in the first direction.

Core for wire-wound electronic component, wire-wound electronic component, and common mode choke coil

This disclosure provides an inductance element including a core, a conductive wire, and a pair of terminal electrodes. The core includes an upper flange portion and a lower flange portion formed on both ends of a winding-core portion, and the conductive wire is wound around the winding-core portion. End portions of the wire connect to a pair of terminal electrodes formed on a bottom surface of the lower flange portion. Each terminal electrode includes a principal electrode region and a pair of extension electrode regions extending from the principal electrode region toward respective side surfaces of the lower flange portion. Each extension electrode region of each terminal electrode is not formed on a region of the bottom surface of the lower flange portion through which one of the end portions of the conductive wires pass.

Inductance element

An electronic device such as a chip coil including an electric wire firmly connected to electrodes in a highly reliable fashion is constructed to be mounted on a printed circuit board or substrate in a stable and reliable manner. At both ends of a core of the chip coil, there are provided electrodes having a multilayer structure including a high-conductivity layer made of Ag, Ag&mdash;Pd, or a similar material; a solder barrier layer made of Ni; and an easy-soldering layer made of Sn or solder. End portions of the electric wire are embedded in the easy-soldering layer so that the resultant electrode structure has a substantially flat surface. A thermo-compression process is performed so that the end portions of the electric wire are connected to the solder barrier layer via solid welding and to the easy-soldering layer via brazing.

Electronic device having electric wires and method of producing same

A chip-type circuit component comprising a chip body which is formed by bonding first and second substrates with each other. A polyimide adhesion layer is provided between the first and second substrates and a thin film circuit pattern is formed on at least one of a pair of main surfaces of the first and second substrates which are opposite each other, while an external electrode is formed on an end surface of the chip body to be electrically connected with the thin film circuit pattern.

Chip-type circuit component and method of manufacturing the same

An electronic device such as a chip coil including an electric wire firmly connected to electrodes in a highly reliable fashion is constructed to be mounted on a printed circuit board or substrate in a stable and reliable manner. At both ends of a core of the chip coil, there are provided electrodes having a multilayer structure including a high-conductivity layer made of Ag, Ag--Pd, or a similar material; a solder barrier layer made of Ni; and an easy-soldering layer made of Sn or solder. End portions of the electric wire are embedded in the easy-soldering layer so that the resultant electrode structure has a substantially flat surface. A thermo-compression process is performed so that the end portions of the electric wire are connected to the solder barrier layer via solid welding and to the easy-soldering layer via brazing.

A body 12 of a chip-type transformer includes two magnetic plates 14, 30 and insulating sheets 16, 20, 24, and 28. Ring-shaped patterned electrodes 18, 22 and 26 are formed on the insulating sheets 16, 20 and 24. The ends 18a and 18b of the patterned electrode 18 and the ends 26a and 26b of the patterned electrode 26 are led out to the same side of the insulating sheets 16 and 24. The ends 22a and 22b of the patterned electrode 22 are led out to the opposite side of the insulating sheets. The magnetic plates 14, 30 and the insulating sheets 16, 20, 24 and 28 are laminated, and external electrodes connected to the patterned electrodes are formed. The ends 18b and 26a of the patterned electrodes are connected by the external electrodes.

Method of manufacturing a chip transformer

A transformer which has a core, a wire for a primary coil and two wires for a secondary coil. The wire for a primary coil and one of the wires for a secondary coil are wound around a body of the core together, that is, are bifilar-wound. The other wire for a secondary coil is single-wound around the bifilar-wound wires. The two wires for a secondary coil are connected in series to form a secondary coil, and the wire for a primary coil forms a primary coil by itself.

A laminate type line transformer. On one side of an insulating substrate, a primary coil section which is a laminate of a first coil pattern layer and a second coil pattern layer with an insulating layer in-between is provided. On the other side of the insulating substrate, a secondary coil section which is a laminate of a first coil pattern layer and a second coil pattern layer with an insulating layer in-between is provided. Both in the primary coil section and in the secondary coil section, conductors of the first coil pattern layer and conductors of the second coil pattern layer are electrically connected alternately via a hole made in the insulating layer.

Line transformer and manufacturing process thereof

A common-mode choking coil comprises a closed magnetic path core which is formed, for example, by combining two U-shaped cores. Two coils wound in opposite respective directions are mounted on two legs of the closed magnetic path core. These coils are formed by single-layer winding. That is a conductor wire is wound in only one layer, for example, around a bobbin. Then, the bobbins whereon the conductor wire is wound are mounted on the two legs of the closed magnetic path core. For the conductor wire used for the coil, a material having a spring property may be used. Utilizing this spring property of the coil, the closed magnetic path core can be held together by the coil, whereby the two U-shaped cores can be combined. Also, the two coils are identified by colors according to the winding direction of the respective conductor wires.

A noise suppression inductor including a bobbin having a spool divided into a plurality of spool portions, a core mounted on the bobbin, at least one coil wound around the spool portions into a plurality of coil portions and a plurality of terminal pins connected to opposite ends of the coil, in which the coil portions have different winding widths such that stray capacities produced at the coil portions are made different from each other, whereby the noise suppression inductor has a plurality of self-resonance frequencies.
