A heat exchanger may include a stacked plurality of plates and a fin plate brazed to each other. Each set of adjacent said plates of the plurality of the plates may define a flow path between plates. Each plurality of the plates may include a flow-through portion penetrating through the plates and through which a fluid is flowable. At least one set of the flow-through portions may be provided at one of the flow paths such that the fluid is flowable from one side of a flow-through portion to an other side of a flow-through portion. The flow-through portion may be disposed outside the fin plate. Each plurality of the plates may further include a through hole disposed outside the fin plate. Each plurality of the plates may further include a first boss portion formed in a substantially elliptical shape surrounding the flow-through portion and the through hole.

Heat exchanger

A screen for brazing a heat exchanger including a plurality of core plates and a base plate. The plurality of core plates may be formed from an aluminum alloy brazing sheet containing magnesium and may have a shape having a taper portion at a periphery. The base plate may be larger and thicker than a core plate of the plurality of core plates. The plurality of core plates and the base plate may be heated and brazed under an inert gas atmosphere. The screen may include a metal tube enclosing a stacked body of the plurality of core plates. The tube may follow the outer border of the plurality of core plates such that a specific minute gap is defined between an inner wall face of the tube and a tip edge of the taper portion.

Screen to be used during brazing of heat exchanger and brazing method for heat exchanger

A heat exchanger is disclosed. The heat exchanger includes a heat exchanger core including a stacked plurality of plates, a top plate, and a bottom plate. The plurality of plates includes two end portion plates, and a plurality of intermediate plates stacked between the end portion plates. Each of the plurality of intermediate plates has a flow-through portion penetrating through the intermediate plates through which a fluid flows. Each of the through holes of each of the plurality of intermediate plates demarcates a flowthrough path which penetrates through the intermediate plate in the stacking direction and is isolated from the flow path between plates. A boss portion having a substantially elliptical shape edge portion is formed at each plate.

A brazing sheet may be used for brazing under an atmosphere of an inert gas without flux. The brazing sheet may include at least three layers. The at least three layers may include a core material, a brazing material layer, and an intermediate layer. The at least three layers may be cladded by an outermost layer of the brazing material layer. The intermediate layer may be disposed on a face of the core material. The core material may be composed of a first aluminum alloy including at least one of (i) 0.20 weight % to 1.0 weight % of Cu, (ii) 0.8 weight % to 1.8 weight % of Mn, and (iii) 0.25 weight % to 1.5 weight % of Mg. The intermediate layer may be composed of a second aluminum alloy including 0.20 weight % or less of each of Si and Fe and 0.10 weight % or less of each of Cu, Mn, and Cr.

Brazing a stacked body with a screen

A vehicle heat exchange system may include a first heat exchanger for exchanging heat between a first medium and a second medium, a second heat exchanger for exchanging heat between the first medium and a third medium, a third heat exchanger for exchanging heat between the second medium and the third medium, a switch valve, and a control unit. The switch valve may be configured to enable selective switching between (i) a first path that supplies the second medium that has passed through the third heat exchanger to an inverter via an inverter radiator and (ii) a second path that supplies the second medium that has passed through the third heat exchanger to the inverter via the first heat exchanger. The control unit may be configured to control the switch valve such that the second path is selected when the first medium is in a predetermined low-temperature state.

Vehicle heat exchange system

Oil cooler is provided to include: a number of core plates each of which has three oil pass holes where oil flows and three cooling water pass holes where cooling water flows; heat-exchanging section where core plates are laminated to define inter-plate oil flow passage and inter-plate cooling water flow passage alternately between an adjacent pair of core plates, in which oil and cooling water can mutually independently flow in direction perpendicular to core plate lamination direction while changing its flow direction by U-turn thereby proceeding in core plate lamination direction as a whole; one end part located at one side of core plate lamination direction and provided with both oil inlet and oil outlet; and the other end part located at the other side of core plate lamination direction and provided with both cooling water inlet and cooling water outlet.

What is disclosed is a heat exchanger including: a core including a plurality of core plates, first and second passages, and a vertical passage; a base plate including a passage port; and a distance plate; wherein the first vertical passage and the passage port are arranged apart from each other in a direction orthogonal to a stacking direction of the core plates, and wherein the distance plate includes a bottom wall part and a swelling part, the bottom wall part being a thin plate-shaped and being joined to an upper surface of the base plate, the swelling part swelling up in the stacking direction from the bottom wall part so as to surround a circumference of a communication passage which communicates the first vertical passage with the passage port and being joined to a lowermost surface of the core in a flange part of a tip of the swelling part.

A heat exchanger includes: the pair of the oil holes being positioned on an outer edge of one of the core plates, being positioned at symmetrical positions with respect to the center of the one of the core plates to sandwich the center of the one of the core plates, and being positioned to sandwich one of the fin plates along the first reference line, and the pair of the coolant holes being positioned on the outer edge of the one of the core plates, being positioned at symmetrical positions with respect to the center of the one of the core plates to sandwich the center of the one of the core plates, and being positioned to sandwich the one of the fin plates along the first reference line.

A heat exchanger includes: each of the fin plates having a V shaped or trapezoid corrugated shape, and including top walls positioned at top portions of the corrugated shape, bottom walls positioned at bottom portions of the corrugated shape, and foot portions each connecting one of the top walls and one of the bottom walls, each of the foot portions having a rectangular corrugated shape along one of the top walls and one of the bottom walls, and including stepped walls formed at a predetermined interval along the one of the top walls and the one of the bottom walls, and opening portions each formed in one of the stepped walls, and being an elongated through holes having a width equal to or smaller than a thickness of one of the fin plates.

A core unitof a heat exchanger includes a plurality of core plates that are stacked on one another to alternately constitute oil passagesand cooling water passagesin which oil that is heat-exchanged in the core unitis guided to an outlet portafter passing through a top connecting passageand an oil outlet passage Land in which part of the oil is led from a lower end of an upper/lower oil passage Lis guided to the outlet portthrough an auxiliary passageso that the amount of oil flowing in the oil outlet passage Lis reduced thereby reducing a passage resistance.

An oil cooler has a core portion () formed of stacked core plates (), a bottom plate (), a second bottom plate () and a top plate (), and these are brazed in a furnace. The core plate () has oil communication ports (), cooling water communication ports () and an oil outlet port (). The lower end core plate () has a boss portion () surrounding the cooling water communication port () and a boss portion () surrounding the oil outlet port (). Opening portions () opposite to the boss portions () are formed through the bottom plate (). Therefore, at the time of the brazing, a melted brazing material is not excessively gathered in the boss portion () because the melted brazing material is absorbed in the opening portions ().

An oil bypass structure of an oil cooler includes: a bypass passage; an outlet side passage; and bypass valve disposed at a connection portion between the bypass passage and the outlet side passage, the bypass valve which includes a valve element including an inside passage, and within which the oil flows, the bypass valve being arranged to be closed to shut off a flow of the oil from the bypass passage to the outlet side passage by the valve element so that the oil passing through the heat exchange section flows within the inside passage, and to be opened to connect the bypass passage and the inside passage so that the oil passing through the bypass passage flows within the inside passage.
