A medium heating device includes a heater that heats a medium, and a medium support member that supports a target heating portion, which is a portion that is heated by the heater in the medium, in which the medium support member has a first component portion that is formed so that a space is provided between the medium and the first component portion when the medium is supported, and a second component portion that is in contact with the medium when the medium is supported.

A recording apparatus includes a recording head which discharges ink onto a recording medium; a heater which dries the ink discharged on the recording medium by the recording head without making contact with the recording medium; and a transport belt which supports the recording medium in a transportable manner in a position in which it is at least possible to dry a portion of the recording medium on which the ink is discharged using the heater. The transport belt includes a plurality of protruding portions, which can make contact with the recording medium, and a contact area between a contact portion of the protruding portion in relation to the recording medium, and the recording medium is 0.3 mmor less.

Recording apparatus

A recording apparatus that includes a condensation guide portion is provided. The recording apparatus includes a recording head that discharges ink onto a recording medium, a heater that dries the ink discharged on the recording medium by the recording head without making contact with the recording medium, a medium supporting portion provided with an opening portion which allows vapor that evaporates from the ink due to the heater to pass therethrough, and a condensation guide portion which causes the vapor that passes through the opening portion to condense and thereby prevent the recording medium from being wetted by the condensed vapor.

An image fixation apparatus includes a supporting surface that is a part of a path along which a recording target medium is transported from an upstream side to a downstream side and can support the recording target medium; and an image fixation section that is provided opposite the supporting surface and performs image fixation processing when the recording target medium is supported by the supporting surface after recording of an image on the recording target medium at a position upstream of the supporting surface, the image fixation processing being processing of fixing the image on the recording target medium, wherein, when measured in a direction in which the supporting surface and the image fixation section are provided opposite to each other, the supporting surface is relatively distant from the image fixation section as compared with a region that is located upstream of the supporting surface in the transportation path.
