A display device includes: a display having transparency; a first detector which, in operation, detects a position indicated by an indicator on the display; a second detector which, in operation, detects position information and an orientation of the display; and a controller which, in operation, displays a virtual image corresponding to the position information and the orientation detected by the second detector on the display and changes a display mode of the virtual image according to the position indicated by the indicator and detected by the first detector.

Display device and method for controlling same

A method of using an active stylus and a sensor controller is provided including generally four steps. The active stylus, in response to a trigger indicative of a pen lowering operation, sends replaceable pen tip information indicating a type of a replaceable pen tip that forms a pen tip of the active stylus. The sensor controller receives the replaceable pen tip information and identifies the replaceable pen tip type of the active stylus. The active stylus repeatedly sends a data signal including a pen pressure value applied to the replaceable pen tip. The sensor controller derives a position of the active stylus based on the data signal using a position deriving method that corresponds to the replaceable pen tip information.

Method using active stylus and sensor controller, sensor controller, and active stylus

A method of using an active stylus and a sensor controller is provided including generally four steps. The active stylus, in response to a trigger indicative of a pen lowering operation, sends refill body information indicating a type of a refill body that forms a pen tip of the active stylus. The sensor controller receives the refill body information and identifies the refill body type of the active stylus. The active stylus repeatedly sends a data signal including a pen pressure value applied to the refill body. The sensor controller derives a position of the active stylus based on the data signal using a position deriving method that corresponds to the refill body information.

An electronic pen includes a first casing that includes a side switch operating element that is operable by a user; an electronic pen main body that performs an electronic pen function, the electronic pen main body being housed within the first casing; and a second casing that encloses the electronic pen main body, the second casing including a contact or an operation receiving portion of a switch that is exposed on the second casing and that is operable by the side switch operating element of the first casing.

The MCU sets profile data representing a correspondence relation between a primary pen pressure value Pand the output value Pbased on a characteristic fof a pen pressure detecting portion PD of the stylus. The profile data broadly or indirectly defines a relation h between the force Fand the output value P. The MCU repeatedly obtains the primary pen pressure value Pcorresponding to the force Ffrom the pen pressure detecting portion PD. The MCU, each time the primary pen pressure value Pis obtained, obtains the output value Pfrom the primary pen pressure value Pbased on the profile data and outputs the output value P. The stylus allows for decoupling (isolating) the configuration of the pen pressure detecting portion PD from the output value Poutputted from the stylus.
