A motor-driven airflow control device is provided wherein an inductance-based non-contact rotation angle sensor is compactly formed at an end of a throttle shaft. An exciting conductor is attached at an end of a rotating shaft to which a throttle valve is attached, a window hole is provided on a gear cover, a stationary substrate with energizing and signal-generating conductors formed thereon is attached to the gear cover so as to face the exciting conductor on the rotating shaft side through the window hole, and the window hole of the gear cover is covered by a thin shield member. The energizing and signal-generating conductors can be shielded from a space where the exciting conductor of the rotary member is arranged, making it possible to obtain a highly reliable motor-driven airflow control device including an inductance-based non-contact rotation angle sensor which is not affected by environments on the rotary member side.

Inductive rotation angle sensor and motor-driven airflow control device using the same

A rotational position sensor having a compact and simple structure, in which a magnetic surface can be formed to have a more accurate shape, and an electronically controlled throttle device for an internal combustion engine, which employs the rotational position sensor. The rotational position sensor comprises a pair of substantially half disk-shaped magnetic cores disposed in an opposed relation to each other with a magnetic sensitive device interposed therebetween, a pair of substantially arc-shaped magnetic cores disposed in an opposed relation to each other along outer peripheries of the half disk-shaped magnetic cores, and a permanent magnet fixed in contact with at least one of the arc-shaped magnetic cores. Magnetic flux generating from the permanent magnet flows successively through one of the arc-shaped magnetic cores, the half disk-shaped magnetic cores, and the other of the arc-shaped magnetic cores, followed by returning to the permanent magnet. The half disk-shaped magnetic cores or the permanent magnet is rotatable, and the magnetic sensitive device detects an amount of the magnetic flux varying with rotation of the half disk-shaped magnetic cores or the permanent magnet.

Rotational position sensor and electronically controlled throttle device and internal combustion engine

The invention is intended to simplify a default mechanism of a throttle valve opening and closing device for the purpose of improving mountability of the device to a vehicle. When a motor generate no driving forces, a throttle valve is held in a position () by a return spring. In this position, gaps are formed between the throttle valve and a wall surface of an intake passage. Spherical recesses are formed in parts of the wall surface of the intake passage. In a position () where the throttle valve is opposed to the spherical recesses, the gaps are minimized in an operating range of the throttle valve.

Throttle valve opening and closing device

An air passageis provided with an air passage groovethat supplies a required volume of air to the side downstream from the fully closed position of a valve body for control purposes. Further, a taper is formed in such a way that a predetermined volume of air can be supplied, even if positional variations have occurred to the valve body. This arrangement allows the volume of air required for the traveling of a car to be supplied, without increasing the number of parts, even if the valve bodyhas stuck downstream from the controlled area. This arrangement also permits a stable supply of air flow at the idle position of the valve body.
