A power feeding system includes a power feeding apparatus and a power line communication unit. The power feeding apparatus feeds power from a power line to an external apparatus. The power line communication unit communicates via the power line, which is a communication medium. The power feeding apparatus includes an acquisition unit, a restriction unit and a determination unit. The acquisition unit acquires restriction information used to restrict the feeding of the power to the external apparatus. The restriction unit restricts the feeding of the power to the external apparatus to which the power feeding apparatus is to feed the power. The determination unit determines as to whether or not the restriction unit has to restrict the feeding of the power, based on the restriction information acquired by the acquisition unit.

An image processing system integral with an image output unit having a power saving mode comprises a temperature detection section for monitoring a fuser temperature in a power saving mode or a rotation detector for a polygonal motor, a control section for outputting a control signal at a predetermined timing, and an energization control section capable of turning on/off output in response to the control signal from the control section. The timing of a power saving mode off signal output by the control section is when the fuser temperature lowers to a temperature or the polygonal motor take longer to ramp up than the time until the image output unit, after the power saving mode is released, is placed in a reprintable state becomes longer than the time required for setting up the data required when image processing is performed. Image formation system

A system for compressing image data composed of monochromatic and color pixels with color information in which the compression efficiency of monochromatic pixels is enhanced. Each pixel includes a color flag having the value '0' if the pixel is monochromatic, '1' if the pixel is color. The remaining bits of each pixel are used for expressing gradation image data. Before applying a pixel to a compressor, if the bits expressing the gradation image data are all '1's', the color flag of '0' is set to '1', and vice versa.

Data compressing system for compressing serial image data with color

A data compression method for an image processing system suitable for compressing image data containing a number of all white lines. Concurrently with the writing of a line memory, a circuit detects a set of adjacent all white lines, which are represented by all zeros. When such a set is detected, a special line boundary code and a code indicating the number of lines in the set are inserted into the image data, which is then applied to a compressor. When the compressor detects the special line boundary code, the compressor discards the corresponding image data, and generates an output for the line consisting of only the uncompressed line boundary code.

System for compressing image data having blank lines

An image processing system for selecting a set of predictors based on characteristics of the data to be compressed. The image processing system includes a predictor stage, having a multiple predictors, in which input image data is conditioned by a predictor as selected from among a set of predictors according to the number of prediction errors. The set of predictors is selected according to a bit pattern of the input image data. The conditioned data is compressed and transmitted to a decompressor where it is decompressed, depredicted, and output in the form of an image. The data compressing system includes circuitry for determining whether input image data is gradation data or text image data, circuitry for applying a boundary code to the image data when the determining means detects a change point where the image data is changed from the text image to the gradation data or from the gradation data to the text data, and a compressor including boundary code detecting circuitry and two predictor sets respectively for the gradation image data and the text image data after detecting a boundary code, the compressor selects the predictor set most suitable for the input image data.
