The present invention provides a heat-resistant nonwoven fabric wherein the nonwoven fabric is formed from a poly(phenylene sulfide) fiber, and 30% by weight or more of the poly(phenylene sulfide) fiber has a crystallinity of 25 to 50%. Moreover, the properties of the heat-resistant nonwoven fabric can be further improved by making the nonwoven fabric have a multilayer structure in which layers composed of a poly(phenylene sulfide) filamentary fiber and layers composed of a poly(phenylene sulfide) fine fiber are stacked and integrated.

A heat-resistnat wire is disclosed which comprises a line of copper or aluminum coated with a shielding material obtained by heating a mixture of: (A) an ethylenic copolymer comprised of ethylene and 0.1 to 20.0 mol % of a monomer of at most 30 carbon atoms having an oxirane group or a hydroxyl group and having at least one double bond; and (B) an ethylenic copolymer comprised of ethylene and 0.1 to 20.0 mol % of a monomer possessing a functional group capable of reacting with oxirane group or hydroxy group in the ethylenic copolymer (A). The wire is excellent not only in heat resistance but also in insulating ability and flexibility.

A scintillation converter for neutron radiography is described, comprising a composition formed of components (A) 100 parts by weight of an olefin rubber made mainly of ethylene and propylene, (B) from 100 to 400 parts by weight of at least one inorganic compound selected from the group consisting of inorganic boron compounds and inorganic lithium compounds, and (C) from 100 to 600 parts by weight of a zinc sulfide-base fluorescent material. This scintillation converter is not only superior in radiation-sensitive performance, but also has high elasticity and superior abrasion resistance.

A vulcanized olefin-based rubber composition is disclosed which is produced by vulcanizing an olefin-based rubber composition with a sulfur-containing substance alone or with a sulfur-containing substance and a vulcanization accelerator in combination. Vulcanized olefin-based rubber composition

A polyolefin composition is described, comprising: (A) a polyolefin which is modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative, or a mixture of such a modified polyolefin and a polyolefin, (B) aluminum or aluminum alloy in a powdery, fibrous and/or flaky form, (C) electrically conductive carbon black, (D) a halogen-containing organic compound and antimony oxide, and (E) a hydrous inorganic substance. This polyolefin composition has good electromagnetic wave-shielding properties and flame resistance, and therefore, it can be used as a housing material for electronic equipment.
