A connecting module includes: a main section in which an electronic circuit is housed; a plate section that is rotatably supported by the main section, and that is adapted to lie in front of the main section, and that is rotatable between a flat position in which an electronic device is laid on a first face representing a top face and a standing position in which the electronic device is leaned against a second face representing a back face opposite to the first face; and a first connector that couples with the electronic device laid on the plate section when the plate section is in the flat position so as to connect the electronic device to the electronic circuit in the main section.

Connecting module and electronic device coupling system

A retention member holds a tip of a pen received in an inner space of a unit body through an opening. A narrowed path member is placed within the inner space at a position between a large-diameter member of the pen and the opening, when the retention member holds the pen. The large-diameter member expands outward from the outer peripheral surface of the pen by a predetermined amount. The narrowed path member contacts the large-diameter member when the pen is released from the retention member, and creates enough interference to prevent the pen from falling out of the unit body, but otherwise allows the pen to be drawn out of the opening.

Pen unit and electronic apparatus

A second enclosure is coupled to a first enclosure for relative rotation around a rotation axis. The second enclosure rotates around the rotation axis in the opposite directions from a reference attitude. The second enclosure is prevented from further rotating in the first direction beyond the first rotation angle from the reference attitude. The second enclosure takes the first angular attitude. The second enclosure is also prevented from further rotating in the second direction opposite to the first direction beyond the second rotation angle from the reference attitude. The second enclosure takes the second angular attitude. The displaying unit indicates either of the first and second directions at least when the second enclosure takes the first angular attitude. The displaying unit in this manner enables the user to easily recognize an acceptable direction for the rotation of the second enclosure.

Electronic apparatus

An electronic apparatus of the present invention has a first unit and a second unit coupled to the first unit through a coupling section which allows the second unit to be opened and closed relative to the first unit and the second unit has a display screen with a pen input function for detecting the contact of a pen or the close position of a pen. The first unit includes a bottom cover, a circuit substrate arranged above the bottom cover, and an upper cover arranged above the circuit substrate. The circuit substrate has a DC-DC converter that is disposed thereon and provided with one or more coils that generate power for operating the electronic apparatus, and at least one of the coils is disposed on the surface of the circuit substrate facing the bottom cover.

Electronic apparatus and circuit substrate

An electronic apparatus has a first unit having a keyboard and a second unit having a display screen. The second unit is coupled to the first unit through a two-axis coupling section to be opened, closed, and rotated relative to the first unit. A first sensor and a second sensor are disposed on the first unit whereas a first member and a second member are disposed on the second unit. The first member comes near and affects the first sensor in a first closed status in which the second unit is closed to lie on the first unit with the display screen facing the first unit. The second member comes near and affects the second sensor in a second closed status in which the second unit is closed to lie on the first unit with the back of the display screen facing the first unit.

An information processing apparatus such as a tablet PC has a rectangular magnesium body. Molded resin components are attached to the body, and have respective functions and engaging portions for releasably securing the body to a docking unit. The information processing device can be used while it is held with a hand or while it is attached to the docking unit. Molded resin components can make sliding contact with the docking unit, but the magnesium body will not make sliding contact with the docking unit and, therefore, the weak points of the magnesium body can be overcome.

Printed circuit board with flap unit

A tablet PC has a body including a printed circuit board, a battery and pen holder. A first connector is fixed to the printed circuit board, and a second connector is fixed to the battery. The second connector is engageable with the first connector when the battery is mounted on the body. A stopper is provided on the printed circuit board to regulate the position of the battery when the battery is mounted on the body. The body has a battery-accommodating portion having an end wall having an opening. The first connector is exposed from that opening.

Information processing apparatus having battery and printed circuit board

The present invention provides a small and thin electronic apparatus such as a tablet PC, which has a screen and an information processing function including an image display processing function for the screen. In the apparatus, a front cover is fixed to a LCD unit by screw-on fastening members, and a rear cover is fixed to the LCD unit by inserting screws through the screw-on fastening members into screw holes provided at positions where the screw holes overlap the LCD unit.

The present invention provides a portable information terminal with fewer differences between models in a parts configuration even when manufacturing a plurality of models with different detectors. The portable information terminal includes an upper cover section and a main body and the upper cover section is provided with a digitizer detecting, when a position on a display screen is pointed, the position and outputting a position signal and a conversion board that converts the position signal output from the digitizer through analog signal lines to a predetermined digital signal and inputs the signal to the main body.

Portable information terminal

An information processing apparatus having a rectangular body and which is used in any vertical or horizontal orientation includes a pair of short side portions and a pair of long side portions. A battery disposed at a short side portion of the body overlaps with the upper cover. A penholder is positioned at a long side portion of the body adjacent to the short side portion where the battery is positioned. The information processing apparatus also has an air outlet opening disposed at or near a corner portion of the body between the short side portion of the body opposed to the side portion where the battery is positioned and the long side portion of the body opposed to the long side portion where the pen is positioned. The information processing apparatus further includes a radio communication receiving element disposed at the long side portion where the penholder is positioned.
