There is disclosed an operation microscope in which an observing and displaying system of an operating instrument are selected, and an endoscope image for observing a dead angle of the microscope and a navigation image are selectively displayed in a microscope observation field, so that a tomographic image, three-dimensionally constructed image, and the like can be selectively displayed in a display screen in accordance with a treatment position displayed in a monitor or an observation position of the operation microscope.

Operation microscope

With the beam scanning probe system for surgery, a pointer indicating the observation point of a beam scanning probe is superimposed upon an image of a lesion to be operated on in the head which is obtained via a TV camera or a surgery microscope, and the superimposed image information is registered as such in an image recording device. With the beam scanning probe system for surgery, information of a cytological picture is also registered in the image recording device. With the beam scanning probe system for surgery, the image recording device registers the two image information in a paired fashion. Through this arrangement, the beam scanning probe system for surgery can smoothly locate, for a given cytological picture, a site of a tumor to be treated from which the picture was obtained, which will ease the operation.

Beam scanning probe system for surgery

First sensing means senses the three-dimensional position of a microscope, with an operating site as the origin. Second sensing means senses the three dimensional position of a surgical instrument with respect to the microscope. On the basis of the sensing results of the first sensing means and second sensing means, computing means calculates the three-dimensional position of the surgical instrument, with the operating site as the origin.

Surgical microscope

Provided is a surgical observational system capable of effectively displaying, in the field of an operating microscope, a real-time image obtained by means of an ultrasonic probe, for example, and a slice image obtained by a preoperative diagnosis on the location of the distal end portion of the probe or a three-dimensional image of an affected region, in association with an actual observational image obtained by means of the microscope. The surgical operation observational system is provided with two monitors in the operating microscope for the observation of the affected region to be operated. Images on the two monitors are alternatively superposed on the optical path of the operating microscope.

Surgical microscopic system

First sensing means senses the three-dimensional position of a microscope, with an operating site as the origin. Second sensing means senses the three-dimensional position of a surgical instrument with respect to the microscope. On the basis of the sensing results of the first sensing means and second sensing means, computing means calculates the three-dimensional position of the surgical instrument, with the operating site as the origin.

An operating microscope includes a base and a support coupled to the base. An arm has a proximal end portion rotatably and/or vertically movably coupled to the support, and a distal end portion. At least the distal end portion is formed of a non-magnetic material. A microscope portion is coupled to the distal end portion of the arm and includes a stereoscopic optical system for forming an image of an observed part. The microscope portion is formed of a non-magnetic material. The operating microscope also includes a power system for operating the microscope portion or a part thereof, and an operation instructing portion for instructing the power system to operate. The power system includes a power generating portion for generating a pressure change or a positional change; a power output portion, formed of a non-magnetic material, for converting the pressure change or the positional change of the power generating portion into a power for operating the microscope portion and a part thereof; and a power transmitting mechanism for transmitting the pressure change and the positional change from the power generating portion to the power output portion. The power transmitting mechanism is formed of a non-magnetic material at least near the power output portion.

Operating microscope

To provide a surgical microscope comprising a microscope collimator for enabling the operator to easily recognize the swivel center of the microscope body regardless of what position the microscope body moves for easy setting of the swivel center point of the microscope body, a surgical microscope pivotally supporting a microscope body having, an observation optical system with one point on an observation optical axis of the microscope body as the swivel center. The surgical microscope comprises index projectors as swivel center visible indicators being capable of recognizing the swivel center. This configuration enables the operator to easily recognize the swivel center of the microscope body for easy setting of the swivel center point of the microscope body. Also, to provide a surgical microscope which does not disturb an operator who handles the microscope or performs an operation and also enables the operator to easily observe at every angle from every direction for improving operability, the surgical microscope is capable of changing an observation angle and an observation direction with a gaze point P on an observation optical axis a of a microscope body having an observation optical system as a rotation center. A base unit that can be moved in X, Y, and Z directions is disposed at a position relative to the microscope body and a swivel base rotatable with the gaze point P as a rotation center is installed above the base unit.

A surgical microscope system having a stereoscopic optical system, an imaging unit, and a monitor display. The stereoscopic optical system has two optical paths and forms a 3D image of an object. The imaging unit forms two images of the object from two light beams focused in the optical paths. The monitor display displays the images of the object which the imaging unit has formed. The surgical microscope system further comprises an observation-light receiving section located in the optical paths for determining an observation field, an observation-light emitting section located in the monitor display for applying the images formed by the imaging unit, and reflectors arranged between the observation-light receiving section and the observation-light emitting section. The observation-light receiving and the observation-light emitting sections are located close to each other and a barrel holds the sections together. Images displayed on the monitor display are projected such that the observer perceives a 3-dimensional virtual image located at a distance from the observer equal to the actual distance between the observer and the object.

Surgical microscope system

A stereomicroscope includes an objective optical system, a variable magnification optical system, and a plurality of imaging optical systems, in which the plurality of imaging optical systems can be moved in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of the variable magnification optical system. Thus, the stereomicroscope has the advantage that where one of two observers wishes to observe a brighter image, the amount of light can be adjusted, without replacement of a light source, by moving the imaging optical systems.

Stereomicroscope

A stereomicroscope is equipped with an objective lens, a variable magnification optical system having an optical axis common with that of the objective lens, a splitting optical system splitting emergent light from the variable magnification optical system into a plurality of optical paths, and an eyepiece disposed in at least one of the optical paths, having a diameter larger than the interpupil distance of an observer. Thus, the stereomicroscope has advantages that, with a simple structure and easy adjustment, many people can make observations, the mountings of photographic and TV devices are possible, the directions in which plural observers see through the microscope can be changed, and eyestrain is difficult to occur which may be caused by the difference in magnification between the images of a bilateral observation optical system.

The operating microscope comprises at least one suction port formed in a microscope body or an arm for supporting the microscope body which is to be enveloped in a drape, and an exhaust fan or exhaust pump connected to the suction port. An exhaust port to be connected to an exhaust pump may be formed in the drape. Since air is exhausted out of the drape, and the drape is brought into close contact with the microscope body and the arm by operating the exhaust fan or the exhaust pump, the drape does not constitute a hindrance in the visual field of a surgeon or dgrade operability of the microscope.

The surgical microscope comprises a stand, an arm movably attached to said stand for sustaining a microscope body, an electric control equipment divided into a plural number of units removably piled up on said stand and a foot switch unit to be used for executing various types of functions. Accommodated in each unit are a function control means having a single specific function or plural specific functions different from those of the other units and an independent power source means connected to said function control means in a relation of 1:1 or in a different combination. The surgical microscope can be designed compact as a whole, has high operability and assures high security during operation. Should a function be lost due to troubles during operation, the surgical microscope prevents the other functions from being influenced by the troubles and allows to speedily restore the lost function.

Surgical miscroscope with a modular stand

A surgical microscope apparatus provided with a failure detecting device for conducting an initial examination and an ordinary examination of an illumination device and a failure detecting device for conducting the ordinary examination of an electric magnification and focusing device, in order to make it possible to self-examine what is defective and indicate the result when failure is caused. The failure of the illumination device is immediately indicated by the self examination of the failure detecting device when a power source is turned on for use.
