A cutting machine can include a cutting machine body that is movably supported above a table and capable of vertical movement, the cutting machine body can be positioned at an upward waiting position and a lower end position. The cutting machine body can include an auxiliary cover positioned around a portion of a blade and including a projection. When in the upward waiting position the auxiliary cover is not able to move upward because of the position of the projection, and in the lower end position the auxiliary cover is able to move upward.

In a slide type circular saw, slide bars extending parallel to each other in a front-rear direction are slidably supported by bearing parts provided in first and second holding portions. The bearing part included in the first holding portion is press-fitted therein, while the bearing part included in the second holding portion is loosely inserted therein, and the second holding portion includes a pressing member which is configured to press the bearing part of the second holding portion against an inner surface of the second holding portion in a direction perpendicular to a plane which contains axes of the slide bars.

A sander is of a palm type, and its upper portion is configured as a holding portion. A battery attachment portion to which a battery having an elongated shape is attachable is oriented at an angle not less than 0 degrees with respect to a vertical direction, such that if a longitudinal direction of the battery is angled, a lower portion of the battery is in a position shifted inward farther than an upper portion of the battery.

A device for mounting a cover of a cutting blade to a riving knife may have an engaging member for releasably engaging at least a part of the riving knife from both sides, in a direction of thickness of the riving knife. The engaging member is manually operable without any additional tools. A device for mounting a riving knife to a table saw may include a manually operable lock member and a biasing member. The biasing member is arranged and constructed to normally bias the lock member towards a lock position. The riving knife may be divided into a first knife portion and a second knife portion. A positioning device may position the first knife portion and the second knife portion substantially within a single plate.

A finishing orbital sander ( ) includes a main body ( ) and a base ( ) provided below the main body. Provided between the main body and the base are a plurality of foot assemblies ( ). The foot assemblies ( ) can effectively counteract vibration occurring in the axial direction of the feet ( ) and reduce vertical vibration of the base ( ) while facilitating a smooth orbital motion of the base.

A concrete vibrator 10 having a direct current motor 3 and a battery pack 19 mounted in a handle housing 17. The battery pack 19 is attached to a hook 75 provided in an opening of the handle housing 17, and a battery cover 80 is attached to completely cover the battery pack 19. Air inlet ports 41, 42 and air exhaust ports 43, 44, 45 are formed in a lower side of a concrete vibrator body between the lower end of handle housing 17 and the lower forward end of a motor housing 11.
