A surgical instrument includes an osteotomy guide portion configured to guide a cutting direction of a tibia, a supporting portion configured to support the osteotomy guide portion, a base housing to which the supporting portion is attached, a pair of ankle arms, an interlocking mechanism, and a center position marker portion. The pair of ankle arms are slidably mounted with respect to the base housing and arranged so that an ankle is sandwiched between the pair of ankle arms from both sides of the ankle. The interlocking mechanism is configured to interlock and slide the pair of ankle arms with respect to the base housing. The center position marker portion is configured to indicate a center position between the pair of ankle arms in a slidably moving direction of the pair of ankle arms.

A surgical instrument includes a rod unit extending in a first direction along a tibia of a human body, an attachment located at a first end of the rod unit that is attachable to an ankle joint, and a fastener located at a second end of the rod unit that is fasten-able to a proximal end of the tibia. The fastener has a through-hole extending in a second direction that crosses the first direction, and a pin that is arranged in the through-hole and that has a tip which is received in the tibia. The through-hole has an opening larger than a profile of the pin to allow the fastener to move about a portion of contact between the through-hole and the pin when the pin is received in the tibia.

A surgical assistance apparatus includes an image processing unit. The image processing unit creates projection image data based on measurement data that has been obtained by measuring an affected part of a patient, and thus creates a projection image as an image that is specified by the projection image data. This projection image is an image that is to be projected onto the patient, and includes an image that shows a state that the affected part is to be in after a surgical operation has started.

Surgical assistance apparatus, program, storage medium, and surgical assistance method

A measurement instrument for joint surgery may relatively move a first bone and a second bone, which are connected by soft tissue at a joint, in directions other than directions in which these bones are separated from each other, and measure the stability of a connection state between these bones. A housing may be fixed to a first bone. A slider may slide relative to the housing, and abut against a second bone. A position display portion displays the position of the slider relative to the housing. A measurement instrument for joint surgery relatively moves the second bone relative to the first bone along a joint face by the slider sliding relative to the housing. The stability of a state of connection between the first bone and the second bone is measured based on the position of the slider relative to the housing displayed by the position display portion.

Provided is a measuring instrument for use in artificial knee joint replacement surgery that can perform knee joint alignment measurement more accurately. The present invention provides a PS-type artificial knee joint implant, with which the gap balance can be adjusted in order to realize a stable deep flexion movement, the burden on a surgeon and a patient can be reduced, and the patient can perform a natural flexion movement. An artificial knee joint implantincludes femoral components, one of which is selected and attached to a distal portion of a femur of the patient, and tibial inserts, one of which is selected and attached to a proximal portion of a tibia of the patient. The femoral components have a cam portion that is disposed between posterior portions of two femoral joint faces, respectively. The tibial inserts have posts that can be brought into contact with the cam portion. The posts have different antero-posterior positions.

An artificial knee joint comprising a femoral component and a tibial plate is provided. The femoral component includes a medial condyle, a lateral condyle, a first sliding surface for coupling the medial and lateral condyles, while leaving an opening therebetween, and a second sliding surface above the first sliding surface. The tibial plate includes a medial fossa, a lateral fossa, a post insertable into the opening, a third sliding surface which the first sliding surface contacts at a posterior surface of the post, and a fourth sliding surface which the second sliding surface contacts behind the post. The artificial knee joint is configured to move in a first sliding state in which the first sliding surface is in contact with the third sliding surface, or a second sliding state in which the second sliding surface is in contact with the fourth sliding surface, according to a flexion angle.
