The Kgpd calculation unit calculates the correction factor by gear Kgpd on the basis of the gear position Ngp and the engine speed NE. The state judgment unit judges whether the engine is in a steady state or in a transient state. The map selection unit selects, on the basis of the judgment result of the engine state, the PB map or the TH map for determining the basic injection quantity Ti. The basic injection quantity determination unit determines the basic injection quantity Ti on the basis of a product of the PB map or TH map and the correction factor by gear Kgpd.

An injection time calculator calculates a basic injection time TiM based on the throttle opening &thgr;TH and an engine rotational speed Ne, and also calculates a fuel injection time Ti by reading the vehicle speed fuel adjustment corrective coefficient KVAF and correcting the basic injection time TiM. When the engine rotational speed Ne is equal to or higher than a predetermined value Ne1 and also when the transmission is shifted to a low gear position, a corrective coefficient KVAF signal is applied to the injection time calculator.

Fuel injection control apparatus

An engine speed calculating apparatus capable of calculating an engine speed without being affected by pulsating revolutions in a low engine speed range. A time required for a crankshaft of an engine to revolve through a predetermined angle is measured upon each completion of revolution through the predetermined angle, and an engine speed is calculated on the basis of measured result data of the time required for revolution through the predetermined angle. When the preceding calculated engine speed is determined to be lower than a predetermined engine speed, an engine speed is calculated on the basis of a time required for the crankshaft to revolve through an angle larger than the predetermined angle.

To change a fuel injection quantity to follow a throttle opening change in a low load region. A first calculator calculates a basic injection time using a throttle opening and an engine rotational speed. A second calculator calculates a basic injection time using an intake pipe negative pressure and the engine rotational speed. A selector selects the first calculator when the load is higher, and selects the second calculator when the load is lower. If the rate of change of the throttle opening is greater than a reference value, then a switcher sets the selector to select the first calculator. Thus, if the rate of increase of the throttle opening is greater than the reference value even when the load is low, the first calculator is selected.

To provide an engine speed calculation apparatus which can facilitate calculation processing of the engine speed without being influenced by pulsation rotation in a low speed region of an engine. In a low speed region of an engine, a predetermined value is divided by a time required for rotation over an angle equal to a plurality of times of a predetermined angle to calculate the engine speed, but in a high speed region of the engine in which pulsation occurs less likely, the predetermined value is divided by the value equal to the plurality of times of the time required for rotation over the predetermined angle to calculate the engine speed.

The present invention provides a control apparatus for controlling an internal combustion engine that enables preferable acceleration in response to the running status of the internal combustion engine. When a computer which computes the fuel supply of the internal combustion engine at each engine cycle according to engine parameters detects a change in the throttle opening level of the internal combustion engine from a low opening level which is lower than a predetermined opening level to a non-low opening level which is higher than the predetermined level and when the computer detects that a variation &Dgr;&thgr;,in the opening level of a throttle is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the computer generates different increment correction values and corrects fuel supply according to the increment correction values.

A throttle-valve control apparatus is provided for allowing switching from an ordinary-combustion state to an AR-combustion state or vice versa to take place with ease in an AR-combustible spark-ignition two-cycle engine wherein, at least during a light-load operation, a compression-start pressure is properly controlled in order to let fresh air in a combustion chamber self-ignite so as to undergo active thermal atmosphere combustion. A throttle drum is linked to a throttle grip through a wire. The throttle drum is also linked to a throttle valve through a linking mechanism. An arm forms a single body with the throttle drum. An adjustment screw is fixed at the end of the arm. A cam is supported at such a location that the cam can be brought into contact with the adjustment screw. A pulley forms a single body with the cam. A cable which is wound around the pulley is linked to a throttle-valve servo motor. In ordinary combustion ignited by spark ignition, the cam is erected, preventing the throttle opening rate .theta..sub.th of the throttle valve from decreasing to a value smaller than, typically, 17%.

Throttle-valve control apparatus for spark-ignition two-cycle engines

A fuel injection control device controls the calculated fuel injection quantity depending upon the load condition of the engine such that the fuel injection quantity demanded by the engine can be established. This fuel injection quantity is determined based upon engine speed, intake air temperature, engine temperature, the atmospheric pressure of the intake air, and the throttle opening. When the detected intake air temperature is high for a high load condition of the engine, an intake air temperature correction factor is set such that the intake air temperature is less influential upon the establishment of the fuel injection quantity. Moreover, during acceleration, an acceleration incremental fuel injection quantity is calculated based upon different water temperature correction factors. When an engine temperature is low, the fuel injection quantity demanded by the engine is very large. Accordingly, the fuel injection control device utilizes a second water temperature correction factor which is set to be larger than a first water temperature correction factor at low engine temperatures. Thus, the fuel injection quantity for acceleration of the engine at low engine temperatures can be established in accordance with the demand by the engine.
