A magnetic reproducing apparatus for reproducing recorded contents of a magnetic tape with the use of a reproducing head comprises a magnetic tape, a magnetic reproducing head, a tape drive mechanism, means for detecting an interlude or a cease period of a reproduced sound from a non-recorded portion of the tape, and means for compulsively maintaining the detected interlude period for a predetermined time.

Magnetic reproducing apparatus

A multi-channel record/playback head is disposed which is used with a magnetic recording medium of vertical magnetization type. The head comprises a plurality of magnetic head elements each including a magnetic record/playback pole disposed opposite to the surface of the medium and a flux conducting pole disposed opposite to a lateral end face of the medium. The elements are arranged so that the individual record/playback poles define different tracks across the width of the medium.

Multi-channel record/playback magnetic head

A tape cassette is formed with a housing having a pair of projecting members extending therefrom and with a pair of engaging recesses in order to enable the tape cassette to be releasably joined with other similar cassettes by engagement of the engaging recesses between projection members of adjacent cassettes, the projection members being spaced to enable engagement therebetween of engaging recesses of similarly formed cassettes.
