The processing circuitry is configured to switch energy bin sets related to discrimination of photons detected by the X-ray detector between a first energy bin set and a second energy bin set in which at least a part of an energy bin combination is different from the first energy bin set during one rotation of the rotating unit and collect correction data for each of the first energy bin set and the second energy bin set during one rotation in response to switching between the first energy bin set and the second energy bin set.

The generation circuitry is configured to generate a reference image of the subject based on an output from the area detector that is given in response to radiation of the X-rays from a predetermined position around the rotational axis for a period required to perform on/off control of radiation of the X-rays. The processing circuitry is configured to set, based on the reference image, an imaging condition for use in scanning for the subject. The controller is configured to control the scanning based on the set imaging condition.

The processing circuitry is configured to input third projection data to a first trained model to generate fourth projection data, the first trained model being generated through learning using first projection data collected by a first X-ray detector included in a first scanner and relatively greatly affected by scattered rays as learning data of an input side and using second projection data relatively less affected by scattered rays as learning data of an output side, the first trained model being configured to generate, on the basis of the third projection data collected by a second X-ray detector included in a second scanner, the fourth projection data in which the influence of scattered rays in the third projection data has been reduced. The first projection data is collected by the first X-ray detector in a case where a collimator provided in a first X-ray source included in the first scanner has a first opening width. The second projection data is collected by the first X-ray detector in a case where the collimator has an opening width smaller than the first opening width.

An X-ray CT apparatus according to an embodiment includes: an X-ray generator configured to generate X-rays; an X-ray detector configured to detect X-rays that have passed through a patient and including first to n-th groups of detecting elements configured to store therein electric charges generated from the detection (where n is an integer of 2 or larger); a Data Acquisition System (DAS) configured to acquire detection data for each view, by repeatedly performing a process of sequentially reading the electric charges stored in the first to the n-th groups of detecting elements in units of groups, starting with the first group of detecting elements; and processing circuitry configured to periodically change energy of X-rays radiated onto the patient and to also control the X-ray generator so that, while the detection data related to one view or a plurality of consecutive views is acquired, an average energy level of the X-rays radiated onto the patient is substantially equal among the groups of detecting elements.

According to one embodiment, an X-ray CT apparatus includes a calculator, a transmitter, a data acquisition unit, and a processor. The calculator calculates a difference between imaging time phases of a first contrast agent and a second contrast agent. The transmitter sends information on the difference between the imaging time phases to an injector. The injector injects the first contrast agent and the second contrast agent into the subject at different timings based on the information. The data acquisition unit scans a subject with X-rays at a predetermined imaging timing to acquire detection data corresponding to different X-ray energies. The processor analyzes the detection data acquired at the predetermined imaging timing to generate a plurality of images corresponding to the imaging time phases.

According to one embodiment, an X-ray computed tomography apparatus includes an X-ray tube, an X-ray detector, a gantry, control circuitry, and acquisition circuitry. The X-ray tube generates X-rays. The X-ray detector detects the X-rays generated by the X-ray tube. The gantry supports the X-ray tube and the X-ray detector rotatably around a rotation axis. While the X-ray tube and the X-ray detector are rotated, the control circuitry allows the X-ray tube to generate X-rays and alters a predetermined CT imaging parameter for which correction data is acquired during a single rotation. While the X-ray tube and the X-ray detector are rotated, the acquisition circuitry acquires correction data related to the target CT imaging parameter through the X-ray detector.

As one embodiment, the X-ray CT device comprises an X-ray tube, a tube voltage generator, an X-ray detector, a data accumulating unit, and an image processing unit. The tube voltage generator applies tube voltage to the X-ray tube. The tube voltage controlling unit controls the tube voltage generator so as to periodically alternate the tube voltage. The X-ray detector is arranged across a subject from the X-ray tube, and detects the X-rays penetrating the subject. The data accumulating unit accumulates first sampling data when a high voltage is applied to said X-ray tube in one cycle by synchronizing with the change in said tube voltage from the data detected by said X-ray detector, and after a predetermined amount of time has passed from said accumulation, accumulates second sampling data when a low voltage is applied to said X-ray tube. The image processing unit creates images based on the accumulated first sampling data and second sampling data.

X-ray CT (computed tomography) device

An X-ray CT apparatus has a scanner, a pre-scan control unit, an image generating unit, a region setting unit and a timing sensing unit. The pre-scan control unit controls an operation of the scanner to perform a pre-scan. The image generating unit generates image data of the object based upon the pre-scan. The region setting unit sets, on the basis of the image data, a region of interest, and a larger region encompassing the region of interest and a region around the region of interest and being used to determine whether or not a high pixel value region exists. The timing sensing unit senses, if the larger region does not include a pixel value higher than a first threshold, a timing to start a main scan, at which a pixel value of the region of interest exceeds a second threshold after injection of the contrast medium agent is started.

An image processing system according to an embodiment includes a display unit capable of displaying stereoscopic images by displaying a group of parallax images and a display control unit. The display control unit displays an operation screen for receiving operations on medical image data on the display unit, displays selection information for selecting medical image data on the operation screen, and controls whether the selection information will be displayed as a stereoscopic image or a planar image depending on the content of medical image data selected by the selection information.

Image processing system and method

An X-ray CT apparatus of an embodiment displays an image of the inside of an object based on projection data obtained by scanning the object, and comprises a generator, a converter, an image forming part and an identifier. The generator scans the object with each of X-rays of different energy levels and generates multiple projection data. The converter converts the multiple projection data into multiple new projection data corresponding to multiple reference substances. The image forming part reconstructs each of the multiple new projection data converted by the converter, thereby forming multiple reference substance images corresponding to the multiple reference substances. The identifier identifies a target substance based on a correlation of pixel values in the multiple reference substance images.
