In an information processing system for efficiently allocating a writing of a decoded pixel signal into a display memory to a period other than the period during which a read circuit accesses the display memory for reading out information to a display device for a display, the read circuit indicates to a decode/write circuit producing the decoded pixel signal a period during which the read circuit does not access the display memory, and the decode/write circuit writes the decoded pixel signal into the display memory at a timing at which the display memory is not accessed by the read circuit.

Information processing system having decode, write and read means

When a document and a recording medium are moved in a vertical scanning direction to read the document and record signals on the recording medium, the read signals are stored in a line buffer memory. The present invention changes over hysteretically a high speed vertical scan mode and a low speed vertical scan mode in accordance with the number of the buffered code bits in the line buffer memory to read the document and record the signal on the recording medium. Thus, the present invention reduces the number of stops of vertical scan.

An image sensor comprises a transparent substrate, an optical lens formed integrally in one major surface of the transparent substrate, and a photosensor provided on the side of the other major surface of the transparent substrate and having output electrodes, wherein light incident on the optical lens is focussed by the lens onto the photosensor through the transparent substrate.

A recording apparatus comprising an input terminal to which a picture information signal to be recorded is applied, a driver for moving an electrostatic printing medium in a predetermined direction, an apparatus for electrifying the electrostatic printing medium, a thermal printing head for heating the electrostatic printing medium in accordance with the picture information signal to reduce the resistance of the heated regions of the electrostatic printing medium, thereby forming a pattern of resistance-reduced region on the electrostatic printing medium, so that a charge pattern (electrostatic latent image) according to the picture information signal is formed on the surface of the electrostatic printing medium.

Recording apparatus

An apparatus for driving a CCD-sensor used in a reader for facsimile. Charge storage time of the CCD-sensor is determined on the basis of detected quantity of light for illuminating a document to be read. The CCD-sensor is driven periodically at a time interval corresponding to the storage time thus determined so that an output signal resulting from the photoelectric conversion effected by the CCD-sensor may remain steady regardless of variations in the quantity of illuminating light.

Apparatus for driving CCD-sensor

A/D conversion of a video scan signal having a substantially constant shading profile. Waveform of a blank or white scan signal is decomposed into gently varying component and steeply changing component superposed on the former. These components are detected by separately provided A/D converters. The gently varying component can be detected by a low speed A/D converter. By adopting the level of the gently varying component as a reference level, the steeply changing components can be detected with a reduced number of bits at an improved precision.

Signal processing system and the method

An apparatus for converting an analog input signal to a binary output signal, particularly for use in a facsimile system. The apparatus includes a reference level generator having its input terminal supplied with the analog input signal, a signal dividing circuitry connected between the input and output terminals of the reference level generator, an integrator having one end connected with the dividing output terminal of the signal dividing circuitry and the other end connected with a common potential level point in the apparatus and a comparator having one input terminal connected with the signal dividing output terminal of the dividing circuitry and the other input terminal connected with the input terminal of the reference level generator. The reference level on the basis of which the analog input signal is converted to a binary signal is thus adjusted for satisfactory conversion of the signal.

Apparatus for converting an analog signal to a binary signal

A control circuit is used for matrix drive recording. It includes a microprocessor, a RAM for storing data to be recorded therein, an address signal editing circuit for modifying the input addresses to the RAM, a shift register for converting the data from parallel to serial form and transferring it to a recording circuit, and a DMA controller for reading the data from the RAM and transferring it to the shift register.

Control circuit for matrix-driven recording

An analog scan signal having a repetitive background waveform is converted into a multi-level signal through a peek hold circuit, a converter, a digital memory and a discriminator. The peak hold circuit detects and holds the peak voltage of the current scan lines. The background waveform is normalized by the peak voltage and converted into a digital signal in the converter and stored in the memory. The analog scan signal is discriminated in the discriminator on the basis of a reference voltage produced with the normalized background waveform read out of the memory and converted in the converter and with the current peak voltage supplied from the peak hold circuit.

Scan signal processing system

A facsimile apparatus having a transmitting unit for scanning an image of a text to produce an image information signal and converting the image information signal to a coded information signal in a band compressed transmission system for transmission through a transmission line, and a receiving unit for decoding the coded information signal transmitted through the transmission line to reproduce the image information on a recording medium, the facsimile apparatus includes a memory having a memory capacity of at least one page information of the text for storing the information signals representing the image of the text to be transmitted and received. The receiving unit includes clock generator for generating a timing clock for reading out the received information signal stored in the memory converting circuit for converting the information signal read out from the memory means into analog information signal, and scanning type recording medium for feeding the recording medium at a constant speed and recording the image on the recording medium in accordance with the analog information signal read from converting circuit. The memory is responsive to the timing clock from the clock generator to sequentially read out the information signal such that a scanning-start timing at each scanning line in the recording medium is repeated with a constant period.

Facsimile apparatus

A signal processing apparatus includes an updown counter for storing a maximum value of analog video signals produced from an array of photoelectric converting elements in a form of digital signal, and a distortion memory for storing a distortion characteristic of the analog video signal output from the photoelectric converting element. A reference voltage is produced on the basis of the output voltages from the up-down counter and the distortion memory to be compared with the analog video signal output from the photoelectric converting element array for encoding the analog video signal into a corresponding binary signal. The up-down counter is decremented with a periodical interval.
