The invention relates to a reaction apparatus having an enhanced connection, and a fuel cell system and an electronic device that include such a reaction apparatus. A reaction apparatus () a reformer () in which a reforming reaction chamber () is formed, a CO remover in which a removing reaction chamber () where a chemical reaction is performed at a temperature lower than that in the reforming reaction chamber () is formed, and a connecting portion () having a communicating path that communicates between the reforming reaction chamber () and the removing reaction chamber (). The reformer () and the CO remover () are arranged spaced apart from each other, at least one of which () is configured by combining ceramic parts () and metal components (), and the ceramic parts () and the metal components () are connected with connecting members () interposed therebetween. Reaction apparatus, fuel cell system and electronic device

The invention relates to a reaction apparatus that efficiently heats a reaction portion, and a fuel cell system and an electronic device that include such a reaction apparatus. A reaction apparatus () includes a reformer () in which formed are a reforming reaction chamber () and a reformer combustion chamber () that generates heat to be supplied to the reforming reaction chamber (), which () are adjacent to each other with a partition interposed therebetween; a CO remover () in which formed are a removing reaction chamber () where a chemical reaction is performed at a temperature lower than that in the reforming reaction chamber () and a remover combustion chamber () that generates heat to be supplied to the removing reaction chamber (), which () are adjacent to each other with a partition interposed therebetween; and a connecting portion () that connects the reformer () and the remover (). A reacting device includes a base plate, a first reaction unit provided on the base plate, a reaction material being supplied thereto, the first reaction unit being set at a first temperature, a reaction flow channel being formed such that the reaction material flows therein, the first reaction unit causing a reaction of the reaction material and at least one heating unit which sets the first reaction unit at the first temperature. The first reaction unit has a plurality of reactors that communicate with each other, and the heating unit is provided between the adjacent reactors.

A reactor including a high-temperature reaction unit which causes a reaction of a first reaction material to create a second reaction material and a product, and a low-temperature reaction unit which causes a reaction of the second reaction material at a temperature lower than in the high-temperature reaction unit. A coupling pipe is interposed between the high-temperature reaction unit and the low-temperature reaction unit and transfers the first reaction material and the product created with the reaction material between the high-temperature reaction unit and the low-temperature reaction unit. The external flow pipe has a plurality of flow pathways including a flow pathway for supplying the first reaction material to the high-temperature reaction unit through the low-temperature reaction unit and a flow pathway for discharging the product from the high-temperature reaction unit through the low-temperature reaction unit.

Reformer for power supply of a portable electronic device

Disclosed is a reactor including: a first reaction part and a second reaction part each comprising a reaction channel where a reactant flows, in which the reactant is applied to cause a reaction of the reactant, and which are arranged to form a gap therebetween; a heat insulating container covering at least entirety of the first reaction part, the second reaction part and the gap, in which a pressure within an inner space of the heat insulating container including the gap is lower than atmospheric pressure; and at least one getter material disposed in a space including the gap in the inner space. The getter material improves degree of vacuum in the inner space of the heat insulating container, and is disposed at the gap between the first reaction part and the second reaction part so as not to increase the size of the reactor.

Reactor

A power generation module for generating electric power by using fuel has a fuel package accommodating portion capable of accommodating a fuel package which has a fuel supply hole and a collection hole having a shape or size different from that of the fuel supply hole, and in which the fuel can be sealed. A fuel supply port can be connected to the fuel supply hole of the fuel package. A collection port having a shape or size different from that of the fuel supply port can be connected to the collection hole of the fuel package. The power generation module further includes a power generator which generates electric power by using fuel supplied from the fuel supply port.

A fuel pack with a space for storing a fuel is provided which includes a case, wherein the case includes a feed port for exhausting the fuel to outside of the fuel pack, and at least a portion of the case is formed of a biodegradable material.

There is provided a power supply system which can cause a predetermined device to stably and excellently operate by only directly connecting an electrode terminal to the device, suppress waste of a power generation fuel, and achieve effective use of an energy resource.

A power supply system generates supply electric power by using a power generation fuel. The system includes a fuel charged portion in which the power generation fuel is charged, a power generator which generates power generation electric power by using the power generation fuel, an output controller which operates or stops the power generator and, a start-up controller which supplies start-up electric power used for operating the output controller to the output controller.

Power supply system and device driven by power supply system

A by-product elimination device used in a power generation system includes a fuel pack provided with a fuel charged portion having a power generation fluid fuel containing hydrogen, and a power generation module which detachably attached to the fuel pack, the module including a reforming portion which transforms the power generation fuel supplied from the charged portion into first gas containing hydrogen gas and carbon dioxide, and a fuel cell which generates an electrical energy by using the hydrogen gas. The device includes an absorbent charged portion which selectively absorbs carbon dioxide contained in the first gas and feeds second gas whose carbon dioxide concentration is lowered by the first gas to the fuel cell.

A phototransistor having a non-linear light vs. conductivity characteristics and an organic electroluminescent layer are sandwiched by a pair of electrodes, a predetermined voltage is applied to the pair of electrodes, and address light is irradiated on a phototransistor to let a current flow in the phototransistor, thus causing the electroluminescent layer to emit light. It is therefore possible to drive the device to present crosstalk-free gradation display with a high contrast ratio.

Method of driving display device

A display device includes an EL element for signal light which is based on the segment matrix drive scheme and causes a plurality of areas to emit signal light containing light in a wavelength range other than the visible range, a photoconductive layer which generates carriers upon incidence of signal light, and an EL element for display light which is adjacent to the photoconductive layer. Signal light is irradiated onto desired areas of the photoconductive layer. Carriers are injected from the irradiated areas into the EL layer to emit display light containing visible light.
