An object of the present invention is to provide a power storage device with excellent cycle property, employing a cathode containing a nitroxyl polymer. To attain the object in the present invention, in the power storage device employing a cathode comprising a nitroxyl polymer, a lithium or lithium alloy anode is used as an anode active material and the cathode is in direct contact with the anode.

A radical compound may be used as an active material for an anode layerto provide a novel stable secondary battery with a higher energy density and a larger capacity. The radical compound used has, for example, a spin concentration of 10spins/g or more.

An object of the present invention is to provide a battery which is high in capacity density and superior in stability. An electrode containing a compound having a diazine-N,N'-dioxide structure shown by a general formula (1) described below as an electrode active material is used, where x, y, x&#x2032;, and y&#x2032; independently shows integer numbers of 0 or more respectively, and the order of condensation of diazine rings and benzene rings may be alternate or random. One of substituents R, R, R, R, R, R, R, and Rshows a part of main chain or side chain of oligomer or polymer, and the other independently shows hydrogen atom, halogen atom, or a specific group.

In a film packed battery, a battery power source comprising, at least, a cathode, an anode, an electrolyte, and a separator is packed with a film. In a method for producing film packed battery, a pre-charging step for charging the film packed battery while pressure is applied, for example, by sandwiching it between two flat plates is included at least once.

Method for producing a pressurized package for a film packed battery

A battery with a laminated film as a casing encapsulating the battery power source is manufactured by the steps of: heat sealing the sealing area of the laminated film, whereby encapsulating the battery power source in the laminated film; and irradiating, with an electron beam, a portion of the heat sealed area, thereby the irradiated area crosses, in the direction along the peripheries of the heat sealed area, the overlapping areas of the heat sealed area and the leading electrodes projecting toward outside from the positive electrode and the negative electrode. According to this method, produced is a battery having a high peeling strength at the position of terminals of leading electrodes without sacrificing battery properties and therefore having high reliability and safety.
