A transparent heat-sensitive recording material of the invention comprises (a) a transparent support; (b) a heat-sensitive recording layer containing a leuco dye and a developer and formed on the transparent support; and (c) a protective layer comprising as main components a pigment and a binder and formed on the heat-sensitive recording layer; wherein the pigment contained in the protective layer is (i) calcined kaolin and at least one main pigment selected from the group consisting of kaolin and aluminum hydroxide, or (ii) calcined kaolin, a third pigment, and at least one main pigment selected from the group consisting of kaolin and aluminum hydroxide; and the calcined kaolin is present in a proportion of 0.3 to 5 mass % relative to the protective layer.

Transparent thermal recording medium

Disclosed herein is a heat-sensitive recording material shows good barcode printability and provides printed images having an excellent milk resistance. The heat-sensitive recording material comprises a heat-sensitive recording layer contains 3,3'-diallyl-4,4&#x2032;-dihydroxydiphenylsulfone and 1,2-di(methylphenoxy)ethane in a specific amount relative to the leuco dye, and contains a crosslinked diphenylsulfone-based compound in an specific ratio based on the total solid in the heat-sensitive recording layer.

A heat sensitive recording material comprising a substrate and a heat sensitive recording layer thereon incorporating a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color acceptor reactive with the dye to form a color when contacted therewith, the recording material being characterized in that the material has a heat sensitive recording layer having incorporated therein (1) a heat-fusible substance exhibiting a weight reduction of at least 5% at 200.degree. C. based on the weight at 25.degree. C. under the condition of 20.degree. C./min in the rate of rise of temperature, (2) a wax, (3) a lubricant, and (4) an oil-absorbing pigment at least 85 ml/100 g in oil absorption.

Heat sensitive recording material

An improved heat-sensitive recording material having a substrate and a heat-sensitive recording layer formed thereon which contains a colorless or light-colored basic dye and a color developer to color said basic dye upon contact by heating, said heat-sensitive recording layer being formed by applying a coating dispersion containing prismatic calcium carbonate comprising single particles each having such a particle size that the average length is 1 to 6 .mu.m and the average breadth is 0.1 to 0.6 .mu.m. The heat-sensitive recording material does not generate any foreign matter to contaminate the recording head and it does not cause reduction in the whiteness of the recording layer with the lapse of time.

Heat-sensitive recording material with heat-sensitive color developing

A heat-sensitive recording material comprising a substrate and a heat-sensitive recording layer thereon, the heat-sensitive recording layer containing a diazonium salt, coupler compound, heat-fusible basic compound and at least one of the compounds represented by the formula [I] below ##STR1## wherein X is --O-- or --CONH--, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each hydrogen, halogen, alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl, aryl, aralkyl or alkoxyl and n is an integer of 1 to 10.

Heat-sensitive recording diazo material with recording sensitizer

This invention provides a heat-sensitive recording material comprising a substrate and a heat-sensitive recording layer which is formed over the substrate and which contains a diazonium salt, a coupler and at least one of specific heat-fusible basic amidine and diamidine compounds in which the nitrogen atom(s) of ##STR1## moiety(moieties) has(have) a substituent and the nitrogen atom(s) or ##STR2## moiety(moieties) has(have) at least one substituent, the substituent being independently selected from the group consisting of phenyl, naphthyl, phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl and naphthyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, each optionally substituted with C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, phenyloxy, nitro or halogen, and in which amidine compounds are other than formamidines. The heat-sensitive recording material is especially excellent in storage stability.
