A balancer apparatus equipped with an oil pump includes a pump housing including a pump containing chamber provided therein, a pump forming member contained in the pump containing chamber and configured to discharge oil introduced from an intake portion from a discharge portion to an oil passage of the internal combustion engine when a rotational force is transmitted thereto, a control oil chamber provided between the pump containing chamber and the pump forming member in a radial direction with respect to a rotational axis of the pump forming member and configured to change a hydraulic pressure of the oil to be discharged from the pump forming member with the aid of the oil introduced therein after being discharged from the discharge portion, passing through an oil passage of the internal combustion engine, and being subjected to a pressure adjustment, and a balancer housing including a bearing retainer portion configured to transmit the rotational force from the internal combustion engine to the pump forming member. The bearing retainer portion supports a balancer shaft disposed along the rotational axis of the pump forming member. The balancer housing is attached to the pump housing in a direction of the rotational axis of the pump forming member. The balancer apparatus equipped with the oil pump further includes a plurality of oil passage opening portions formed together on one side surface of the balancer housing and each connected to an oil passage connected to a main oil gallery of the internal combustion engine. The plurality of oil passage opening portions includes a discharge oil passage opening portion of a discharge oil passage connecting the discharge portion and the main oil gallery of the internal combustion engine to each other, a feedback oil passage opening portion of a feedback oil passage connecting the main oil gallery of the internal combustion engine and the control oil chamber to each other, and a bearing oil passage opening portion of a bearing oil passage connecting the main oil gallery of the internal combustion engine and the bearing retainer portion to each other.

Balancer apparatus equipped with oil pump

Balancer device has upper and lower housingsandhaving therein an accommodation section, a pair of drive and driven side shaftsandwhich are rotatably supported by four plain bearingstoprovided in the accommodation section and to which a rotation force is transmitted from a crankshaft, and arc band-shaped thrust receiving portionsandwhich thrust flange portions of drive and driven gearsandprovided at the drive and driven side shafts respectively can contact from a thrust direction. Balancer device for internal combustion engine

There is provided a balancer device for an internal combustion engine that suppresses lubricating oil from failing onto a reduction gear and a pump drive gear provided to drive and rotate an oil pump and thereby suppresses an increase in resistance against rotation between the reduction gear and the pump drive gear. The balancer device for the internal combustion engine includes a lower side housing on which a balancer drive gear, a first balancer shaft including a first balance weight, a first gear, a second gear, a second balancer shaft including a second balance weight, and the reduction gear are mounted. The balancer device also includes an upper side housing formed in such a shape that covers the balancer drive gear, the first balancer shaft including the first balance weight, the first gear, the second gear, the second balancer shaft including the second balance weight, the reduction gear, and the pump drive gear from above in the state that the oil pump is assembled with the upper side housing such that the pump drive gear is meshed with the reduction gear. The upper side housing is assembled with the lower side housing. The balancer device further includes an exposure opening formed in the upper side housing such that only the balancer drive gear is exposed from the upper side housing to be meshed with an engine-side gear.

Balancer shaftandrotatably set through bearingsand an oil pumpdriven by power from the balancer shaftandare provided in a balancer housing. Oil discharged from an outlet portionof the oil pumpis supplied to a main oil gallerythrough an outlet passage. A bearing filterthat filters a part of the oil is provided in the outlet passagethat extends from the outlet portion. A communication passagethat branches off from the outlet passageand communicates with the bearingssupplies a part of the oil having been filtered by the bearing filterto the bearings. By filtering the oil that is going to be supplied to the bearing portion, decrease in durability of the bearing portion can be suppressed.

Balancer apparatus for internal combustion engine

A balancer device for an internal combustion engine includes upper and lower housings made of aluminum alloy. The upper housing includes a leg part fixed to the engine. The lower housing is coupled to the upper housing by tightening bolts. A pair of balancer shafts are rotatably supported by the upper and lower housings. A positioning pin is disposed at a distal end portion of the leg part for positioning the upper housing with respect to the engine by positional correspondence to a positioning hole of the engine when the tightening bolts are tightened. The leg part is inclined outwardly with respect to a body of the upper housing such that a distal end of the positioning pin is located outside of a proximal end of the leg part with respect to the body of the upper housing when the tightening bolts are loosened.

Balancer device for internal combustion engine and its assembly method

A balancer device of an internal combustion engine, has a drive gear engaged with an input gear to which a rotation force is transmitted from a crankshaft; a balancer drive shaft to which the rotation force is transmitted from the drive gear and which has a balancer weight; a balancer drive gear rotating integrally with the balancer drive shaft; a balancer driven gear engaged with the balancer drive gear; and a balancer driven shaft rotating integrally with the balancer driven gear and having a balancer weight. At least one of the drive gear, the balancer drive gear and the balancer driven gear is provided, on both axial direction side surfaces thereof, with ring-shaped grooves whose diameters are different from each other. The ring-shaped grooves are formed up to a depth from the surface of the gear at which both the ring-shaped grooves overlap each other in the axial direction.

Balancer device of internal combustion engine

A piston skirt has narrowed relief sections adjacent piston bosses and between first and second relief sections. The first relief sections extend between a piston head and respective piston bosses whist the second relief sections extend downward from the respective piston bosses. The narrowed relief sections are spaced from each other in parallel to piston pin holes at a distance which is smaller than that at which the first and second relief sections are space from each other, respectively. The narrowed relief sections are formed thicker and therefore more rigid than the first and second relief sections so that the piston skirt is more rigid adjacent the piston bosses and less rigid above and below the piston bosses, whereby to effectively lessen side thrust of the piston to the cylinder wall without deteriorating the durability.
