An ink composition for performing printing on an impermeable base material, including water (A), a resin (B) which is at least one selected from the group consisting of an acrylic resin, a polyester resin, and a urethane resin, and an organic solvent (C) which has a boiling point of 250° C. or lower, has no nitrogen atom, and satisfies Expression (C1), in which a total content of the organic solvent (C) is in a range of 0.01% by mass to 5.0% by mass with respect to a total amount of the ink composition. Ink composition for performing printing on impermeable base material and image recording method

Provided is an image recording method including a step of preparing an ink containing water and a white pigment, and a step of jetting the ink from an ink jet head in a liquid droplet amount of 1.0 pL or greater to apply the ink onto a base material, in which in a case where an ink jetting surface of the ink jet head is immersed in the ink in a vertically standing state for 2 seconds, the jetting surface is pulled up from the ink in the state, and the jetting surface is allowed to stand in the state for 1 minute, a ratio of an area of a region to which the ink is adhered to an area of the jetting surface is 40% by area or less.

Inkjet ink composition and image recording method

Provided is an image recording method including an applying step of applying a pretreatment liquid containing water and an aggregating agent onto an impermeable base material and applying an ink containing water and a colorant onto a region of the impermeable base material where the pretreatment liquid has been applied, and a drying step of drying the ink applied onto the region to obtain an image, in which the drying step includes blowing of hot air at a wind speed of greater than 15 m/s to the ink applied onto the region, and in a case where the number of grams of the ink applied per 1 min an image area with a density of 100% is defined as X, and the number of grams of the pretreatment liquid applied per 1 min the image area with a density of 100% is defined as Y, a viscosity of a kneaded material obtained by adding (6.5Y/X) mg of the pretreatment liquid to 10 g of the ink and defoaming and kneading the mixture at 200 rpm for 5 minutes is in a range of 30 mPa·s to 500 mPa·s.

A method of producing an image recorded material is a method including an image recording of sequentially applying a pretreatment liquid containing an aggregating agent, a first ink containing a first resin, and a second ink containing a second resin onto an impermeable base material to record an image, in which in the image recording, the image is recorded under a condition in which a ratio of a total applied mass of the first resin and the second resin per unit area to an applied mass of the aggregating agent per unit area in an overlapping region formed such that a region where the pretreatment liquid is applied, a region where the first ink is applied, and a region where the second ink is applied overlap each other in plan view is generated is 16.0 or greater and 30.0 or less.
