An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine is provided. The ignition coil includes: a primary coil and a secondary coil magnetically coupled to each other; a second spool which the secondary coil is wound around; and a connection terminal connected to a high voltage side of the secondary coil and supported by a terminal support portion provided at the second spool. The terminal support portion includes an insertion hole portion allowing the connection terminal to be inserted in an insertion direction as a coil radial direction. The connection terminal includes a protrusion protruding outside the connection terminal in a direction orthogonally crossing the insertion direction. The protrusion is engaged to the insertion hole portion from inward in the coil radial direction.

Ignition coil for internal combustion engine

In an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, a coil case includes a housing section and a high-voltage tower section. The housing section houses a primary coil, a secondary coil, a center core, and an outer peripheral core, and is arranged outside a plug hole in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine in which an ignition plug is arranged. The high-voltage tower section protrudes from the housing section, and is disposed within the plug hole. A pole joint is disposed within the plug hole, and is mounted to the high-voltage tower section via a seal rubber. The pole joint is provided with a rib that protrudes to an outer periphery and faces an inner peripheral surface of the plug hole. The inner peripheral side of the rib faces the high-voltage tower section via the seal rubber.

In an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine, a resistor is disposed in a tower insertion hole of a high-voltage tower section. A coil spring is inserted in the tower insertion hole. An inner diameter of a proximal end side portion of the tower insertion hole is larger than an outer diameter of a maximum outer diameter portion of the resistor. An inner diameter of the distal end side portion of the tower insertion hole is larger than an outer diameter of a proximal end side portion of the coil spring, and is smaller than the outer diameter of the maximum outer diameter portion. In a state where the coil spring is pulled out from the tower insertion hole, the maximum outer diameter portion is restrained by the distal end side portion of the tower insertion hole, and a gap is formed between the resistor and a high-voltage cap.

An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine is equipped with an assembly of a connector casing and a coil body. The coil body includes a primary winding wound around a primary spool. The connector casing has terminals each of which is equipped with a conductor fastener. The conductor fastener has a slit in which one of ends of the primary winding is fit to make an electric connection between the terminal and the primary winding. The primary spool has conductor guides and a backup support to establish alignment of each of the ends of the primary winding with one of the conductor fasteners and also to facilitate insertion of each of the ends of the primary winding into one of the conductor fasteners when the coil body is fitted into the connector casing, thereby ensuring the stability of electric connection between the primary winding and the terminal.

In a motor driver of a valve timing adjusting apparatus, each terminal at a first end side of a first circuit board is arranged after a corresponding terminal at a first end side of a second circuit board in a predetermined direction, which is generally perpendicular to a plane of each circuit board. Furthermore, each terminal at a second end side of the first circuit board is arranged after a corresponding terminal at a second end side of the second circuit board in the predetermined direction.

Motor driver

A stator having a stator core about which a coil is wound is secured to an aluminum frame. A magnet-embedded type rotor is rotatably accommodated inward of the stator. A circuit substrate is attached to the surface of the aluminum frame opposite to the surface to which the stator is secured. A control circuit and hall ICs for detecting the rotational position of the rotor are mounted on the circuit substrate. Detection signals of the hall ICs are received by the control circuit. The control circuit supplies a drive current to the coil of the stator in accordance with the detection signals.

Electric motor

In a stick coil, there is disclosed an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine which can prevent a crack (a collar leak) from being generated due to a thermal stress. In this ignition coil, the structure is made such that a size (L) of a portion which is in parallel to an axial direction of a primary spool ( ) in a projection portion ( ) is larger than a size (T) of a portion which is in parallel to an orthogonal direction to the axial direction of the primary spool ( ). Accordingly, a frontal projected area of the projection portion ( ) as seen from a flowing direction of a resin becomes small, a resin flow is hard to get out of order at a time when the resin flows through a portion corresponding to the projection portion ( ) at the forming time, and a convoluted void and a weld are hard to be generated. Accordingly, since it is possible to prevent a mechanical strength in a root portion of the projection portion ( ) from being reduced, it is possible to previously prevent a crack from being generated in the root portion of the projection portion (the collar portion) ( ) due to a thermal stress so as to reduce an insulating property.

Ingition coil for internal combustion engine

An ignition coil includes a housing which contains a central core portion, an inner spool having a first winding, and an outer spool having a second winding. The inner spool extends outward of the central core portion. The outer spool extends outward of the inner spool. A locating member includes a locating rib adjacent to an upper portion of the central core portion. The locating rib is in a gap between the inner spool and the central core portion, and locates the inner spool and the central core portion relative to each other. Insulating resin injected into the housing provides insulation among parts in the housing. At least one of the inner spool and the locating member has a void-escape passage which connects the gap and an outside of the inner spool with each other, and which allows a void to escape from the injected insulating resin in the gap.
