To enable correction or adjustment of a curtain travel curve in a case of driving an opening and closing blade by a power source in which a motor mechanism and a spring mechanism are combined. Provided are the motor mechanism that generates a traveling torque of the opening and closing blade of a mechanical shutter provided in an incident light path to an imaging element by electric conduction to a coil, and the spring mechanism that generates the traveling torque of the opening and closing blade together with the motor mechanism. In this case, a control unit capable of individually controlling a time length from the start of the electric conduction to the coil to the start of traveling of the opening and closing blade, and a value of a current to be supplied to the coil is provided.

Imaging apparatus and shutter driving method

Provided are a first magnetic drive unit including a first coil and a first magnet, and a second magnetic drive unit including a second coil and a second magnet. Also provided are a first drive lever and a second drive lever operated by the first magnetic drive unit and the second magnetic drive unit, respectively, a first opening and closing blade and a second opening and closing blade that open and close an opening by an operation of the first drive lever and the second drive lever, respectively. A first lock mechanism locks the first drive lever at a predetermined position, and a second lock mechanism that locks the second drive lever at a predetermined position, and a part of the first lock mechanism and a part of the second lock mechanism are located between the first magnetic drive unit and the second magnetic drive unit.

A blade opening/closing apparatus includes a magnetic driving portion including a coil to which a driving current is supplied and a magnet that is rotated along with energization to the coil; a driving body that includes a to-be-locked portion and is operated by the magnetic driving portion; an opening/closing blade that opens/closes an aperture by an operation of the driving body; and a lock portion that sets a locked state of the opening/closing blade by engaging with the to-be-locked portion, the setting of the locked state and a release of the locked state being carried out in accordance with a rotation position of the magnet. Accordingly, since the lock portion engages with the to-be-locked portion to thus set the locked state and unlock the locked state in accordance with the rotation position of the magnet and locking with respect to the opening/closing blade is not performed by a magnetic force of the magnet, a favorable photographing state can be secured without causing an increase of power consumption.
