A connectordisclosed by this specification includes a male connectorand a female connectorconnectable to each other. The male connectorincludes a male terminaland a male housinghaving a receptacleand configured to hold the male terminal. The female connectorincludes a female terminalhaving a connecting portionto be connected to the male terminaland a female housing having a female terminal accommodating portion fittable into the receptacleand configured to hold the female terminal. A protrusion projecting toward the male terminal is provided on an inner surface of the receptacle. The female terminal accommodating portion is provided with a slit into which the protrusion is to be inserted. The connecting portion is provided with an escaping recess configured to allow the protrusion inserted into the slit and projecting inwardly of the female terminal accommodating portion to escape.

Connector

A multi-contact terminal is provided integrally with an angular tube having a polygonal tube shape and a plurality of resilient contact pieces extending from side walls of the angular tube and to be resiliently brought into contact with an outer peripheral surface of a mating terminal in the form of a round bar inside the angular tube. According to this configuration, the angular tube functions as a cover for protecting the resilient contact pieces. In addition, since the resilient contact pieces and the angular tube are integrated, the number of components can be reduced. The resilient contact pieces are equal in length in a connecting direction to the mating terminal and arranged at positions different in the connecting direction to the mating terminal.

Multi-contact terminal

A female terminal () to be connected to a male terminal () includes a tubular portion () configured by a plurality of peripheral walls. Resilient pieces () extend in a front-back direction while facing the peripheral walls in the tubular portion (). Excessive deflection preventing portions () are provided on the peripheral walls, including a front abutting portion () and a rear abutting portion () arranged behind the front abutting portion (), and configured to prevent the resilient pieces () from being deflected excessively by contacting the resilient pieces () at both the front and rear abutting portions ().

Female terminal

A female terminal () includes a tubular portion () into which a male terminal () is to be inserted, a plurality of first resilient pieces () projecting inwardly of the tubular portion () from a bottom wall () of the tubular portion () and arranged side by side in a direction intersecting with an inserting direction of the male terminal () into the tubular portion (), and a plurality of contact portions () arranged at positions of the tubular portion () respectively corresponding to the plurality of first resilient pieces () and configured to sandwich the male terminal () between the plurality of resilient pieces () and the contact portions. Since this enables each first resilient piece () to apply a proper contact pressure to the male terminal (), the male terminal () is pressed against the second contact portions () at a proper contact pressure.

A waterproof connector () to be mounted on a case () of a device includes a housing () which includes a fitting () fittable into an opening () provided on the case (), an annular seal ring () that provides watertightness between the inner peripheral surface of the opening () of the case () and the fitting () and a mounting recess () into which the seal ring () is to be fit. The mounting recess () is formed by mounting a separate front member () having a larger cross-section than a cross-sectionally small portion () provided at a front end part of the fitting () on the cross-sectionally small portion ().

A connector () to be mounted on end portions of wires () includes first terminals () connected to the end portions of the wires (), second terminals () electrically connected to the first terminals () via flexible conductive members () and connected to terminals of a mating connector (CN), and a housing () for accommodating the first terminals () and the second terminals ().

A socket terminal () to be fitted and connected to a mating pin terminal () includes a tubular portion () to be fitted to the pin terminal (). The tubular portion () includes a base portion () provided on a side opposite to a fitting starting end to the pin terminal () and a plurality of terminal pieces () extending in an axial direction of the tubular portion () from the base portion () toward the pin terminal (), spaced apart in a circumferential direction of the tubular portion () and capable of resiliently coming into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the pin terminal () fitted in the tubular portion (). The base portion () includes a plurality of terminal pieces () projecting toward the pin terminal () radially of the tubular portion () and configured to hold the outer peripheral surface of the pin terminal ().

Socket terminal

A service cover () to be mounted to close a rear end opening () provided on a housing main body () of a waterproof connector () includes a fitting () which is fittable into the rear end opening (), an annular seal ring () that provides watertightness between the rear end opening () and the fitting () and a fitting recess () that is recessed on an outer periphery surface of the fitting () and into which the seal ring () is to be fit. The fitting recess () is formed by mounting a front member () with a larger cross-section than a cross-sectionally small portion () constituting a front end part of the fitting () on the cross-sectionally small portion ().

Service cover

A shield connector () includes a housing () and first and second terminals () accommodated in the housing (). The housing () includes first recesses () for positioning first connecting portions () in a rotation stop state by having first protrusions () fitted therein, second recesses () for positioning second connecting portions () in a rotation stop state by having second protrusions () fitted therein and terminal connecting portions () to which the first and second connecting portions () are to be connected by coaxially arranging first bolt holes () and second bolt holes () as the first and second connecting portions are positioned.

A device-side connector () is connected to a wire-side connector () by being mounted into a shield case () of a device () including a base member () and the shield case () fixed to the base member (), and includes first terminals (), a first housing () fixed in position with respect to the base member () and configured to hold the first terminals (), second terminals () connected to the first terminals () via flexible conductive members (), and a second housing () configured to hold the second terminals () and engageable with the first housing () with a predetermined clearance (CL) defined therebetween by the engagement of engaging frames () of the first housing () and engaging protrusions (A) of the second housing ().

A connector () is provided with wires () including shield layers (C), L-shaped terminal fittings () mounted on ends of the wires (), a resin molded part () provided to include connected parts of the wires () and the terminal fittings (), a first shield shell () configured to cover a predetermined part of the resin molded part () and including a through hole (A), a wire shield connecting member () connected to the shield layers (C) of the wires () and including a through hole (A) and a bolt () configured to fasten the first shield shell () and the wire shield connecting member () by being inserted through the respective through holes (A,A) and electrically connect the first shield shell () and the wire shield connecting member ().

A connector includes a connector housing having a cavity, a male terminal having a protruded portion, a sealing ring receiving recess included in the connector housing, a sealing ring arranged in the sealing ring receiving recess, and a retainer mounted in the connector housing and pressing the sealing ring from a front side of the protruded portion of the male terminal. The male terminal is housed in the cavity in a way that the protruded portion protrudes from the connector housing. The sealing ring receiving recess is located at a position corresponding to a base section of the male terminal that is on a side from which the protruded portion protrudes. The male terminal passes through the sealing ring such that it seals a space between the male terminal and an inner surface of the sealing ring receiving recess. The retainer includes an engagement portion engaged with the male terminal.
