A recovery device for a volatile organic compound is a device for recovering the volatile organic compound in a coating drying oven which dries a coating film of a workpiece coated with a water-soluble coating. The coating drying oven includes: an evaporation zone in which moisture of the workpiece is evaporated; and a curing zone to cure the coating film. The recovery device includes: a first take-out passage for taking out first furnace air in the evaporation zone; a second take-out passage for taking out second furnace air in the curing zone; a mixing chamber configured to mix the first furnace air and the second furnace air to obtain mixed air; and a cooling recovery unit configured to cool the mixed air and recover, as a condensate, the volatile organic compound contained in the mixed air, together with the moisture.

Volatile organic compound recovery device and recovery method

An electrodeposition coating method includes a degreasing/cleaning step, a chemical conversion step, and an electrodeposition coating layer formation step. The degreasing/cleaning step includes a degreasing step of ultrasonically vibrating a degreasing solution in which a target object is immersed, using an ultrasonic vibrator. The electrodeposition coating layer formation step includes: a first electrodeposition step; a first rinsing step; a rinse water removal/reduction step of removing or reducing rinse water on a rinse water stagnating surface of the target object; a thermal flow step of allowing the first electrodeposition coating film to thermally flow so that the first electrodeposition coating film formed on a portion of the target object near a first counter electrode has a higher electrical resistance than the first electrodeposition coating film formed on a portion of the target object far from the first counter electrode; and a second electrodeposition step.

The present invention is intended to solve a problem that a coating film has an uneven thickness in the case where a coating targethas a stepped portion extending in a predetermined direction on its coating surface. To solve the problem, a follow-up coating is performed along the stepped portion S extending in the predetermined direction after coating of the entire coating surface of the coating targetso that paint mist adheres more to a relatively-recessed side of the stepped portion S.

Coating method and coating device

The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a method for forming an excellent multi-layer coating film of high chroma and brightness and a rich color. With the method, color mottling does not occur easily in the coating film and the design obtained is homogeneous even without strict control of variations in film thickness during coating. The method for forming the excellent multi-layer coating film comprises: forming a metallic base coating film on the surface of the object to be coated by applying a metallic base coating containing a shiny material; then forming a color base coating film by applying a color base coating; subsequently forming a clear coating film by applying a clear coating on the color base coating film; and heat-curing the metallic base coating film, the color base coating film and the clear coating film obtained. In the method, the light reflectance of the metallic base coating film is in a specified range and the light transmittance of the single color base coating film obtained by heat-curing the color base coating film as a single film is adjusted to a specified range.

Method for forming excellent multi-layer coating film

A structure is configured such that a viewer hardly feels strangeness of color tone or texture even when paint mist is attached to a center pillarduring coating of a body outer plate. A panel surface of an outer panelof the center pillarhas a protrusion in a middle in the vehicle vertical direction such that at least part of a lower portion of the panel surface projects toward the outside of the vehicle body relative to an upper portion of the panel surface. A start end HL of the protrusion is located at substantially an identical height to a door body upper edge line UL in at least a center portion in a pillar width of the pillar outer panel.

Vehicle body side part structure

An overcoat to be formed on an automotive vehicle body is formed by coating an overcoating base paint and, as needed, a solid or clear coating paint. The overcoating is continuously performed in at least three coating stages, wherein a rotary-type atomizing coater is disposed for the first coating stage and an air-nozzle type coater is disposed for each of the second and third coating stages. When a metallic paint having a pale color is coated in all three coating stages, while two coating stages are employed for coating a paint having a relative dark color.
