An opposed-piston engine includes: a cylinder; a one-side piston disposed inside the cylinder on one side in an axial direction; and an other-side piston disposed inside the cylinder on another side in the axial direction. Atop surface of the one-side piston has a one-side cavity recessed in a central portion. A top surface of the other-side piston has an other-side cavity recessed in a central portion. An outer peripheral edge of the one-side cavity is at least 0.1D1 away from an outer peripheral edge of the top surface of the one-side piston over the entire circumference, where D1 is a diameter of the top surface of the one-side piston. An outer peripheral edge of the other-side cavity is at least 0.1D2 away from an outer peripheral edge of the top surface of the other-side piston over the entire circumference, where D2 is a diameter of the top surface of the other-side piston.

Opposed-piston engine

An engine according to an embodiment includes at least one cylinder, at least one piston disposed in the at least one cylinder, a plurality of fuel injection valves disposed on the at least one cylinder, the plurality of fuel injection valves including a first fuel injection valve having a predetermined total hole area and a second fuel injection valve having a total hole area smaller than the total hole area of the first fuel injection valve, and a control device for controlling the first fuel injection valve and the second fuel injection valve according to a load of the engine.

An opposed-piston engine according to an embodiment is a first fuel injection device configured to inject fuel from a circumferential wall surface of at least one cylinder into the cylinder, and a second fuel injection device disposed to be displaced in a circumferential direction so as to be opposite to the first fuel injection device across an axial center of the cylinder. Each of the first fuel injection device and the second fuel injection device includes a plurality of injection holes having different injection directions, in a cross-section orthogonal to the axial direction. A direction directed by a first downstream injection hole is configured to pass through a second injection region, and a direction directed by a second downstream injection hole is configured to pass through a first injection region.

According to an embodiment, a multiplier accumulator includes a controller, a high-order multiplier, a high-order accumulator, a low-order multiplier, and an output unit. The controller is configured to designate each digit within a range of the most significant digit in a coefficient for an input value to a stop digit as a target digit. The high-order multiplier is configured to calculate a high-order multiplication value by multiplying the input value, and a value and a weight of the target digit. The high-order accumulator is configured to calculate a high-order accumulation value by accumulatively adding the high-order multiplication values for input values. The low-order multiplier is configured to calculate a low-order multiplication value by multiplying an input value and a value of a digit smaller than the stop digit. The output unit is configured to output a value determined based on whether the high-order accumulation value exceeds a boundary value.

Attenuation compensation volume computing means () of a signal receiver computes attenuation compensation volume of a video signal (G, G) on the basis of attenuation of pulses which are arranged in a digital sound signal LRfrom the signal transmitter, and video signal attenuation compensation means () of the signal receiver compensates the attenuation of the video signal (R, G, B) on the basis of the computed attenuation compensation volume (G, G), thereby stably compensating the attenuation of the video signal irrespective of kinds of displays or resolution of an image, and outputting good sounds to a video output machine as well as good videos.

Synchronous signal overlapping and outputting means and sound signal transmitting means of a signal transmitter transmit any color signal which synchronous signals overlapped and the other color signals, and a sound signal on which polarity information of the synchronous signals was added through four signal lines to a signal receiver, respectively. Synchronous signal recovering and outputting means of the signal receiver recovers the synchronous signals on the basis of the synchronous signals separated from the color signal with the polarity information and outputs the signals to an image output unit. A voltage is selectively applied between two electrodes (emitter and gate) disposed at a short distance to create an intense electric field between the electrodes. Electrons emitted by the field emission are accelerated by the intense electric field and collide against a fluorescent layer so that light can be emitted from portions of the fluorescent layer. With a recording head of the above construction, an electrostatic latent image is formed on a photosensitive drum.

Electrophotographic recording apparatus

A scanning optical apparatus is used as a recording apparatus having an optical system and a mechanical system and effecting desired recording on a photoconductor by irradiation of a beam. The apparatus comprises marks confirming the beam scanning position on the photoconductor, an error detecting unit for detecting the error of the scanning position from the optimal scanning position, which error is due to an optical factor or a mechanical factor, and a control unit for suitably correcting the scanning position of the beam in real time on the basis of a signal representing the detected error.

Scanning optical apparatus

A recording apparatus includes an image carrier member, a member for forming a developing agent image by supplying a developing agent on the image carrier member, and a heating member capable of generating heat in a transfer region of the recording apparatus, wherein transfer and fixing are performed substantially simultaneously by the heating member. According to this invention, it is possible to realize a recording apparatus which consumes little power and requires only a short warm-up time. It is also possible to satisfactorily fix conductive developing agent on plain paper.

An apparatus for scanning a plane with light beams is disclosed, in which divergent laser emitting beams emitted from laser beam emitting points of a semiconductor laser unit are collimated by a collimator lens and directed toward a refractor located at a position at which the individual laser beams are spatially separated from each other. The refractor projects the laser beams in slightly different directions. The laser beams transmitted from the refractor are converged by a convergent lens to be incident on a galvanomirror. As the galvenomirror is swinging about its axis of swinging, the laser beams reflected by it are deflected. A surface is thus scanned by the convergent laser beams from the galvanomirror.
