A signal-pickup cartridge is adapted to be loaded into a holder of a signal-pickup device proper of a rotating recording medium reproducing apparatus. The signal-pickup cartridge comprises a cantilever having at its distal tip a reproducing element for picking up and reproducing a signal from a rotating recording medium rotating in the apparatus, a cartridge case supporting therewithin the cantilever and having a ceiling plate and vertical walls on opposite sides thereof, a box-shaped cover joinable to the cartridge case to cover the lower face thereof in a manner to protect the cantilever and the reproducing element, and a mechanism for joining the cover and the case in latched state. This mechanism is triggered to unlatch the cover from the case when the cartridge is inserted into the holder.

Signal-pickup cartridge for a rotary recording medium reproducing

A rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus for reproduces a rotary recording medium accommodated within a case. The case comprises a jacket provided with a space for accommodating the rotary recording medium and an opening for allowing the rotary recording medium to go in and out of the jacket, and a lid member inserted through the opening of the jacket for closing the opening of the jacket. The rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus has a rotary recording medium clamping mechanism provided at an innermost part of the reproducing apparatus, for clamping an outer peripheral groove guard of the rotary recording medium when the case is inserted into the reproducing apparatus and then the jacket is pulled out from the reproducing apparatus. The rotary recording medium clamping mechanism comprises a rotatable lower clamp member, a mechanism for holding the lower clamp member to assume a substantially horizontal position upon clamping, an upper clamp member provided rotatable to oppose the lower clamp member and having projection projected downwards at a tip end thereof, and a mechanism for locking the upper clamp arm, after the outer peripheral groove guard of the rotary recording medium enters between the upper and lower clamp members, in a state where the projection faces the inner side of the outer peripheral groove guard.

Rotary recording medium clamping mechanism

A rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus reproduces a rotary recording medium accommodated within a case, where the case comprises a jacket provided with a space for accommodating the rotary recording medium and an opening for allowing the rotary recording medium to go in and out of the jacket, and a lid member inserted through the opening of the jacket for closing the opening of the jacket. The rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus comprises an inserting opening through which the case is inserted, a mechanism provided at an innermost part of the reproducing apparatus, for locking and leaving the lid member inside the reproducing apparatus when the case is inserted into the reproducing apparatus, and for releasing the locking with respect to the lid member when an empty jacket is inserted into the reproducing apparatus, and a lid member-jacket connecting mechanism for releasing connection of the lid member with respect to the jacket when the case is inserted into and then pulled out from the reproducing apparatus, and for connecting the lid member to the jacket when the jacket is inserted into and then pulled out from the reproducing apparatus. The lid member-jacket connecting mechanism connects the lid member to the jacket in response to the starting of an operation in which the jacket is pulled out from a final inserting position of the jacket within the reproducing apparatus.

A case for a disc-shaped recording medium operates together with a disc-shaped recording medium reproducing apparatus provided with an inserting opening through which the case is inserted, a turntable for rotating the disc-shaped recording medium, and locking mechanism and engagement releasing mechanism provided at the innermost part of the disc-shaped recording medium reproducing apparatus opposite to the inserting opening with respect to the turntable. The case comprises a jacket having a space for accommodating the disc-shaped recording medium and an opening for allowing the disc-shaped recording medium to go in and out of the jacket, and a closing member inserted through the opening of the jacket for closing the opening of said jacket. The closing member unitarily has a pair of engaging arms on both sides thereof which can elastically bend. The closing member is locked by the locking mechanism upon insertion into the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus together wtih the jacket. The engaging arms and the jacket have a slipping out preventing engaging part for preventing the closing member from slipping out the jacket in a state where the closing member is inserted into a predetermined position within the jacket. The engagement releasing mechanism has engagement releasing members which relatively make contact with and push against sloping surfaces of the engaging arms for bending the engaging arms inwards, upon insertion of the closing member into the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus together with the jacket. The engaging arms and the engagement releasing members have a deviation preventing engaging part at least at a part where the engaging arms and the engagement releasing members respectively make contact, for preventing deviation within a plane perpendicular to a plane in which the closing member extends.

A rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus reproduces a rotary recording medium accommodated within a case where the case comprises a jacket provided with a space for accommodating the rotary recording medium and an opening for allowing the rotary recording medium to go in and out of the jacket, and a lid member inserted through the opening of the jacket for closing the opening of the jacket. The rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus comprises an inserting opening through which the case is inserted, a turntable for rotating the rotary recording medium, a lid member locking mechanism and rotary recording medium clamping mechanism provided at an innermost part of the reproducing apparatus at an opposite side from the inserting opening with respect to the turntable, where the rotary recording medium clamping mechanism consists of an upper clamping member and a lower clamping member which is at a downwardly inclined rotated position upon non-clamping state and at a horizontal rotational position upon clamping state, an operating mechanism pushed and displaced by the case inserted into the reproducing apparatus, for operating the lid member locking mechanism and the rotary recording medium clamping mechanism, a locking mechanism for locking the operating mechanism at a final displaced position, and a restricting mechanism constructed from a part of the lower clamping member of the rotary recording medium clamping mechanism and a part of the operating mechanism, for restricting the displacing movement of the operating mechanism towards the final displaced position at an intermediate position when the lower clamping member is at the downwardly inclined rotated position.

Rotary recording medium reproducing apparatus

A reproducing apparatus reproduces a loaded disc-shaped recording medium derived from a case. The case comprises a jacket which has a space for accomodating the disc-shaped recording medium and an opening for allowing the disc-shaped recording medium to go in and out of the jacket, and a lid member inserted through the opening of the jacket for closing the opening of the jacket. The reproducing apparatus comprises an inserting opening through which the case is inserted, a turntable for rotating the disc-shaped recording medium, a clamping mechanism for clamping at least one of the disc-shaped recording medium or the lid member provided at the innermost part on the opposite side from the inserting opening with respect to the turntable, a detecting mechanism for detecting whether the disc-shaped recording medium is loaded within the reproducing apparatus, and an arresting mechanism provided at the vicinity of the inserting opening, for arresting the insertion of a jacket having the lid member into the reproducing apparatus and allowing the insertion of a jacket not having the lid member into the reproducing apparatus, by displacing according to the detecting operation of the above detecting mechanism. The arresting mechanism allows the insertion of the jacket having or not having the lid member into the reproducing apparatus in a state where the detecting mechanism is not performing a detecting operation.

Disc-shaped recording medium reproducing apparatus

A case for a disc-shaped recording medium is used in a disc-shaped recording medium reproducing apparatus provided with an insertion opening through which the case is inserted, a turntable for rotating the disc-shaped recording medium, a lid plate locking member and a disc-shaped recording medium clamping member provided at the innermost part of the disc-shaped recording medium reproducing apparatus opposite to the inserting opening with respect to the turntable, and a jacket opening enlarging member provided in the vicinity of the insertion opening, capable of moving between the position in the vicinity of the insertion opening and the innermost part of the disc-shaped recording medium reproducing apparatus above the turntable. The case comprises a jacket having a space for accommodating the disc-shaped recording medium and an opening for allowing the disc-shaped recording medium to go in and out of the jacket, and a lid plate inserted through the opening of the jacket for closing the opening of the jacket. The lid plate has cutouts wherein the jacket opening enlarging member and the lid plate locking member enter. The opening of the jacket is enlarged by the jacket opening enlarging member within the cutouts of the lid plate upon insertion of the jacket inside the reproducing apparatus through the insertion opening. The lid plate is locked by the lid plate locking member within the cutouts of the lid plate upon insertion into the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus together with the jacket. The lid plate further has a ride-over part for to allowing the disc-shaped recording medium clamping member to ride over said lid plate and enter from the enlarged opening of the jacket and clamp the disc-shaped recording medium inside the jacket upon insertion of the lid plate into the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus together with the jacket. The jacket is pulled out in an empty state leaving behind the lid plate locked by the lid plate locking member and the disc-shaped recording medium clamped by the disc-shaped recording medium clamping member, when the jacket is pulled out from within the reproducing apparatus in a direction opposite to the direction of the insertion.

A reproducing apparatus reproduces a disc-shaped recording medium which is accommodated within a case comprising jacket which has a space for accommodating the disc-shaped recording medium and an opening for allowing the disc-shaped recording medium to go in and out of the jacket, and a lid plate inserted through the opening of the jacket for closing the opening of the jacket. The reproducing apparatus comprises an inserting opening through which the case is inserted a lid plate locking mechanism and disc-shaped recording medium clamping mechanism respectively provided at the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus opposite to the inserting opening with respect to a turntable, for rotating the disc-shaped recording medium, and a jacket opening enlarging mechanism provided in the vicinity of the inserting opening, capable of moving over the turntable between the position in the vicinity of the inserting opening and the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus. The jacket opening enlarging mechanism has an enlarging member for enlarging the opening of the jacket by entering inside the cutouts of the lid plate, upon insertion of the jacket into the reproducing apparatus through the inserting opening. The lid plate locking mechanism has a locking member for locking the lid plate by entering inside the cutouts of the lid plate, upon insertion of the lid plate into the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus together with the jacket. The disc-shaped recording medium clamping mechanism has a clamping member for clamping the disc-shaped recording medium within the jacket by riding over the ride-over part of the lid plate and entering through the enlarged opening of the jacket, upon insertion of the lid plate into the innermost part of the reproducing apparatus together with the jacket.
