There is provided a domed monitoring camera apparatus allowing reduction of a shift in focus dependent on a variation in optical path length caused by a dome cover. The domed monitoring camera apparatus () includes a monitoring camera (), a dome cover () which covers the monitoring camera (), and a camera controller (). The camera controller () functions as an adjustment unit which, when the dome cover () is attached, adjusts the focus of the monitoring camera () with the cover attached to correct a variation in optical path length caused by the dome cover (). The camera controller () adjusts the focus of the monitoring camera () with the cover attached according to an optical path length affecting cover parameter which represents a dome cover character relative to increase or decrease of the optical path length of the monitoring camera ().

A camera device () includes an AF value calculating unit (), a focus position determining unit (), and an LED control unit (). The AF value calculating unit () calculates an AF value from a camera image captured by an image imaging element (). The focus position determining unit () determines a correct focus position based on the AF value. The LED control unit () controls light emission of an LED () provided in a main body () and indicates the correct focus position to a user. This allows to assist the user in focus adjustment by means of a light emitter provided in the main body. Thus, the camera device which allows the user by himself to adjust focus with ease without the help of others is provided.

Disclosed is a method for chemical sensitization of a silver halide emulsion comprising a sensitization step of subjecting the silver halide emulsion to chemical sensitization with a chalcogen compound or a chalcogen compound and a gold compound to produce silver chalcogenide or gold silver chalcogenide, wherein the chemical sensitization is performed under such conditions that at least a part of the silver chalcogenide or gold silver chalcogenide produced in the sensitization step can be amorphized. This method can provide a silver halide emulsion showing high sensitivity without increasing fog and degrading storability and such a silver halide emulsion.
