A connector comprises a supporting member, a movable member and a contact. The movable member is supported by the supporting member so as to be movable in an up-down direction. The movable member is provided with a reference surface and a protection protrusion. The protection protrusion protrudes upward from the reference surface in the up-down direction. The protection protrusion is provided with a protection portion. The contact has a contact portion. The contact portion protrudes upward through the reference surface of the movable member in the up-down direction. The contact portion is positioned inward of the protection portion in a front-rear direction perpendicular to the up-down direction. The movable member moves the contact portion of the contact downward in the up-down direction when a force along an intersecting direction is applied to the protection portion. The intersecting direction intersects with the up-down direction. When the force is released, the movable member is moved upward in the up-down direction together with the contact portion of the contact.

Connector

A connector is fixable to an object such as a circuit board. The connector comprises a shell. The shell has a body portion and a fixing portion for fixing the body portion to the circuit board. The body portion is provided with an engagement piece. The fixing portion has a flange and an opening. The flange is configured to be screwed to and pressed against the circuit board. The opening is engaged with the engagement piece so as to press the engagement piece toward the circuit board when the flange is pressed against the circuit board.

Connector and mating connector

Provided is a connector to be securely fixed on a board, especially, the connector having a high-strength shell prevented from detached from the connector. The connector has a mating portion, a plurality of the contacts, a holding member holding the contacts and a shell and to be connected with a mating connector in a front-back direction. The mating portion is positioned in forward part of the connector. The holding member is formed with a protrusive portion protruding backward. The protrusive portion is formed with a receiving portion. An edge of the shell is formed a stopper portion. The stopper portion and the receiving portion face to each other in the front-back direction. The contact has a contact-fixing portion fixed on the board. The shell has a shell-fixing portion fixed on the board. A distance between the shell-fixing portion and the mating portion is larger than another distance between the contact-fixing portion and the mating portion.

Connector for mounting on a board

An interface sectionof a structureincludes a plurality of contacts, each of the contacts having a contact portionand a spring portionwhich supports the contact portionso that the contact portionis displaceable in an up-down direction. The contact portionsof the contactsare arranged in a pitch direction (X direction), and reinforcement portionsare positioned between the contact portions, respectively. The structure reinforces a side portion of the contact portion. Therefore, even if the contact portionreceives a force along the pitch direction (X direction), damage of the contactcan be prevented.

Structure including an interface section having displaceable contact portions with reinforced portions

A connector is able to accommodate an object (for example, a tray on which a card is mounted). The connector comprises an ejection member and a backup portion. The ejection member includes a receiver and an ejecting portion. The receiver is able to be pressed by an operating member (for example, a pin). The ejection member pivots from an accommodating position to an eject position when the receiver is pressed. The ejecting portion ejects the object when the ejection member pivots toward the eject position. When the receiver receives an excessive force from the operating member, the backup portion is brought into abutment with the receiver so as to backup the receiver.

A connector is fixable to an object such as a printed circuit board. The connector comprises a shell having a body portion and two fixed portions for fixing the body portion to the object. The body portion has two side portions and an upper portion coupling the side portions with each other in a lateral direction. The side portions are connected to the respective fixed portions. The fixed portion has a base portion and a strengthener. The base portion is located outward of the side portion in the lateral direction. The strengthener extends inward in the lateral direction from the base portion beyond the side portion.

A dock-side connector comprises first and second dock-side contacts and a dock-side housing holding the contacts. An intermediate portion connecting between contact and terminal portions of each first PC-side contact and an intermediate portion connecting between contact and terminal portions of each second PC-side contact have respective crank shapes. An intermediate portion connecting between contact and terminal portions of each first dock-side contact have approximately the same shape and length as the intermediate portion of each second PC-side contact. An intermediate portion connecting between a contact portion and a terminal portion of each second dock-side contact have approximately the same shape and length as the intermediate portion of each first PC-side contact.

In an electronic apparatus adapted to load and unload an object, a contact is held by a base having a principal surface. The contact has a contacting portion which is formed on the principal surface and elastically displaceable in a direction intersecting the principal surface. A holder is coupled to the base to be rotatable around an axis extending in a first direction perpendicular to the principal surface. The holder has a receiving portion adapted to hold the object and is adapted to bring the object into contact with the contacting portion.

Electronic apparatus which requires less space for loading and unloading an object

In a card connector including a fixed portion adapted to receive a card, a conductive contact is coupled to the fixed portion and adapted to be connected to the card received in the fixed portion. An eject mechanism is coupled to the fixed portion and adapted to eject the card from the fixed portion in an ejecting direction. A braking mechanism is coupled to the eject mechanism and adapted to supply a controlled braking force to the eject mechanism. The controlled braking force is variable in an ejecting process of the card.

Card connector in which a braking force is varied during a card ejecting process

In a connector including an insulating housing holding contacts, the housing is strengthened by two strengthening members made of metal. The housing has a pair of first wall portions extending and spaced from each other and a pair of second wall portions defining a rectangular cavity between the first wall portions in cooperation with the first wall portions. Each of the first wall portions has a wall inner surface faced to the rectangular cavity, a wall outer surface opposite to the wall inner surface, and a wall peripheral surface between the wall inner surface and the wall outer surface. The contacts are disposed on at least one of the second wall portions. The strengthening members are disposed on the first wall portions, respectively, and extending along at least one of the wall inner surface and the wall outer surface.

Electrical connection apparatus capable of resisting repetition of connection and disconnection

In a card connector for use in connecting a card, an eject mechanism is coupled to a housing for receiving the card. The eject mechanism is for executing an ejecting operation of ejecting the card from the housing. The card connector is provided with a retarding mechanism which cooperates with the eject mechanism to retard the ejecting operation. The retarding mechanism may include a braking mechanism for braking the card in response to an operation of the eject mechanism. Alternatively, the braking mechanism may be for braking an eject bar which is included in the eject mechanism and movable along the housing for ejecting the card.

Card connector having a retarding mechanism for retarding an ejecting operation of a card

In a card connector for connection to a card, a housing is provided therein with a contact for contacting the card. For ejecting the card from the card connector, an ejecting mechanism includes an ejecting bar coupled to the housing and movable in directions of insertion and ejection of the card. For controlling an operation of the ejecting bar, a cam mechanism is coupled to the ejecting bar. The ejecting bare is constantly biased by an elastic member towards direction of the ejection of the card. The ejecting bar has a retaining portion for retaining the card. The ejecting bar moves along with the card with the retaining portion retaining the card when the ejecting bar is operated to eject the card from the card connector.

Card connector that can prevent both leaping-out and ejection failure of a card

A card connector () receives and ejects a card therein and therefrom along receiving and ejecting directions (Y, Y). The card connector () comprises a housing (). The housing () holds a slider () so that the slider () is slidable along the receiving and the ejecting directions (Y, Y), while carrying the card thereon. The slider () has an ejecting-directional end () as an end thereof in the ejecting direction (Y). The card connector () is provided with a stopper (), which is latchingly fitted with the ejecting-directional end () of the slider (). The stopper () serves to prevent the card from projecting out of the slider () in the ejecting direction (Y) even when the slider () partially projects from the housing () in the ejecting direction (Y), unless the latchingly-fit of the stopper () with the ejecting-directional end () of the slider () is released. Thus, undesirable projection of the card upon ejection is prevented.
