A printer includes a first upper face cover and a second upper face cover. The first upper face cover is formed such that when a medium is set in a setting port, the width direction of the medium is a first direction, and the first upper face cover has a smaller dimension in the first direction than a dimension of an apparatus main body in the first direction. The first upper face cover in a closed state is included inside the second upper face cover in plan view when the second upper face cover is in a closed state. The first upper face cover and the second upper face cover both in the closed states form a shape that corresponds to an outline of an upper portion of the apparatus main body.

Recording apparatus

Of at least three drive sources provided inside a printer body, a carriage-driving motor and a transport motor are disposed on one side with respect to a center portion in a width direction that intersects a medium transport direction while a sheet-feed motor is disposed on the other side with respect to the center portion in the width direction. The battery that provides electric power to the three drive sources is disposed such that the center of gravity of the battery is on the other side with respect to the center portion in the width direction.

A printer includes an encoder scale having a reading region that is read by an encoder that detects a motion of a transport driving roller, and an anti-static unit having an anti-static brush that is in contact with the encoder scale and a base that supports the anti-static brush, wherein the anti-static brush is in contact with a region of the encoder scale other than the reading region.

A recording device includes a liquid ejection head, a support unit that support a paper sheet, a transportation path along which the paper sheet is reversed and transported, and a transportation roller that transports the paper sheet, wherein a liquid absorbent is provided downstream in the transportation direction of the paper sheet relative to the transportation roller, and liquid absorbents are provided upstream in the transportation direction of the paper sheet relative to the transportation roller, and second liquid absorbent is provided between the liquid absorbent and the liquid absorbent.
