A door opening/closing apparatus automatically opens and closes a door, and the door is supported by a vehicle body such that the door can open and close in a vertical direction. A plurality of link members connect the door and the vehicle body, and at least one of the link members is driven by the drive motor. A drive motor is provided integrally on or within at least one of the link members, and a connection shaft connects the link member having the drive motor and another link member that is adjacent to the former link member. The connection shaft is rotated by the drive motor.

Opening and closing apparatus for an opening and closing member of a vehicle

A power operating apparatus for a vehicle door moveable between an opened position and a closed position, includes a drive mechanism provided at the inside of a vehicle body with respect to a door opening of the vehicle door to power move the vehicle door in an opening direction toward the opened position and in a closing direction toward the closed position, and a power-transmission mechanism mechanically linking the drive mechanism with the vehicle door to enable power transmission between the drive mechanism and the vehicle door. A through-opening in the body panel of the vehicle body so that the through-opening is arranged outside of the inner peripheral edge of the door opening. The power-transmission mechanism having at least a linkage portion capable of going into and out of the interior of the vehicle body. The linkage portion of the power-transmission mechanism is inserted into the through-opening, so that the locus of power movement of the linkage portion is generated outside of the inner peripheral edge of the door opening.

Power operating apparatus for vehicle door

A motor vehicle has a pivoting door that pivots upward and downward. A control device for controlling the pivoting door comprises an electric drive unit that drives the pivoting door by an electric power; a door operation switch that permits the pivoting door to pivot between a full-close position and a full-open position with the aid of the electric drive unit when operated; a movement stopping structure that stops and holds the pivoting door at a half-open position when operated; and a control unit that controls the electric drive unit and the movement stopping structure in accordance with an ON/OFF operation of the door operation switch.

An operating device for operating an automotive pivotal door has the following elements, which are an electric motor of reversible type; a speed reduction device driven by the motor and having an output part formed into an output gear; a rack member having a toothed side edge meshed with the output gear, so that upon energization of the motor, the rack member is moved axially; a motion transmitting member having one end pivotally connected to one end of the rack member and the other end connected to the pivotal door; and a structure which permits a swing movement of the rack member about an axis of the output gear when an external force is applied to the rack member in a direction to swing the same during the axial movement of the rack member. For appropriately controlling the operating device, a computer-aided control unit is employed.

Operating device for automotive pivotal door

A kinetic conversion mechanism includes a driving pulley pivotally connected to one end portion of a board which is pointed in the direction of substantially crossing the hinge shaft of a door, coupled to the output shaft of a motor and capable of forward and reverse rotation; a driven pulley pivotally connected to the other end of the board; and an endless belt wound on the driving pulley and the driven pulley, the belt being coupled to a part of the belt as the output portion thereof. The kinetic conversion mechanism and the motor are arranged in the shape of substantial L-letter by coupling the motor to one end portion of the kinetic conversion mechanism at substantially right angles. A transmission member is made bendable and also pivotal within a plane substantially perpendicular to a hinge shaft. One end of a coupling member is pivotally connected to an open-close structure, whereas the other end thereof is pivotally connected to the transmission member. Further, the coupling member follows the open-close movement of the open-close structure and is caused to tilt while bending the transmission member.

Apparatus for driving vehicle door to open and close

An automotive door lock device comprises a lock proper having a latch mechanism installed therein. A main cover plate is fixed to the lock proper. The main cover plate has therein an interchanger mechanism operatively engaged with the latch mechanism. A socket structure is defined by the main cover plate. The socket structure has a terminal member of the interchanger mechanism exposed to an interior of the socket structure. An auxiliary cover plate has a shape to be detachably held by the socket structure and has an actuating member installed thereto. The actuating member is brought into an operative connection with the terminal member when the auxiliary cover plate is properly held by the socket structure.

Automotive door lock device

A lock striker unit comprises generally a striker and a plastic cover. The striker includes a base plate, a generally U-shaped rod secured to the base plate and a molded plastic material covering the rod to provide each shank portion of the same with a diametrically larger portion and a diametrically smaller groove portion. The groove portion is positioned near the base plate. The plastic cover is sized to cover a major surface of the base plate and has an elongate slit which is constructed to permit the U-shaped rod to pass therethrough. The elongate slit includes two circular openings connected through a thinner slit. Each circular opening is so sized as to make a latched engagement with the groove portion of the shank portion when the plastic cover is properly attached to the base plate.
