According to an embodiment, an image processing apparatus includes an input interface, a memory, and a processor. The input interface obtains a captured image obtained by imaging an imaging area including the shelf on which the article is arranged. The memory stores an article list showing the article arranged on the shelf. The processor detects the article for which the person in charge has done the checking work from the captured image obtained by the input interface. The processor outputs information indicating the article for which the person in charge has not done the checking work on the basis of the article list and a checked-article list showing the article for which the person in charge has done the checking work.

Image processing apparatus that manages checking work performed on articles and image processing method thereof

A flying drone for shelf label checking includes a flying mechanism, a camera, and a camera interface configured to transmit and receive data to and from the camera. A flight control interface is configured to transmit and receive data to and from the flying mechanism. A processor is configured to acquire a first image of an object from a first distance with the camera, then extract an object region for the object from the first image. The processor then sets a flight path based on the object region and controls the flying mechanism to fly the camera along the flight path to a second distance that is closer to the object than the first distance. A second image of the object is then acquired from the second distance with the camera.

The camera interface supplies a control signal to a camera and acquires a photographed image photographed by the camera. The processor causes the camera to photograph a wide area image in a detection region of target objects set as a photographing range, detects the target objects present in the wide area image photographed by the camera, determines a photographing order of the target objects detected from the wide area image, and causes the camera to photograph a narrow area image of one target object selected according to the photographing order.

A storage device stores, for each of a plurality of registered objects, dictionary feature information for identifying the corresponding object and dictionary boundary information for identifying an actual boundary area of the corresponding object. A processor receives the captured image from the camera, and determines an object area in the captured image. The processor extracts feature information from the object area, and, based on the extracted feature information compared to the dictionary feature information, identifies each object included in the object area. The processor also extracts boundary information corresponding to each identified object included in the object area, and, based on the extracted boundary information compared to the dictionary boundary information with respect to each identified object, determines an overlap state of each identified object in the object area.

An information processing apparatus includes a camera interface configured to connect to a camera, and a processor configured to control the camera via the camera interface to capture an image of a plurality of articles and a shelf displaying the articles, determine a plurality of article IDs for the articles shown in the captured image using a feature value of each of the articles, and based on shelf allocation plan information that associates a shelf ID of each of a plurality of shelves with a plurality of article IDs for articles displayed on the shelf, determine a shelf ID of the shelf shown in the captured image. According to one embodiment, an image processing apparatus comprises a screen, a camera, a distance sensor, and a processor. The screen has one surface where an object is put. The camera photographs an image from the other surface of the screen. The distance sensor measures a distance from the one surface of the screen and generates distance information indicating the distance. The processor extracts a region of the object from the photographed image, specifies the object from the image of the region of the object, acquires an outer dimension preset to the specified object, calculates a length, from the screen, of the object put on the one surface of the screen based on the distance information, and outputs an alert when the outer dimension does not match the length of the object.

According to one embodiment, a code recognition device includes a reader, a processor for region detection, for first extraction, and for second extraction. The reader photographs a code image. The processor detects a code region and a letter region included in the code image from the code image photographed by the reader. The processor extracts first code information indicating the code image from the code region. The processor also extracts second code information indicating the code image from the letter region.
