A UV-shielding coating composition comprises (A) a dispersion in a dispersing medium of composite zinc oxide nanoparticles which are obtained by coating surfaces of zinc oxide nanoparticles with an oxide or hydroxide of Al, Si, Zr and Sn, the dispersion having a photocatalytic degradability of up to 25%, (B) a vinyl copolymer obtained from copolymerization of an alkoxysilyl-containing vinyl monomer, a UV-absorbing vinyl monomer, and another monomer, and (C) a solvent. The composition is transparent to visible light, UV-shielding, mar resistant, weatherable, and durable.

An organic resin laminate comprising an organic resin substrate and a multilayer coating system thereon has UV-shielding property and high mar resistance. An emulsion coating agent composition containing: (A) one hundred parts by weight of an organosilicone resin obtained by hydrolysis and/or condensation of a mixture of a silicone oil having both reactive terminals represented by X&#x2014;[RSi&#x2014;O&#x2014;]&#x2014;RSi&#x2014;X (R is selected from monovalent hydrocarbon groups containing one to twenty carbon atoms and/or aryl groups, and each R is same or different groups, X is a hydrolyzable group and/or an OH group, and m is a natural number from three to one hundred), a silane and/or a silicone in which the organosilicone resin containing a continuous linear chain structure indicated by &#x2014;[RSi&#x2014;O&#x2014;]&#x2014; (R and m are both identical to the R and m in the formula showing the silicone oil with both reactive terminals), and 5 mole % to 60 mole % of the total Si atoms in the organosilicone resin form the chain-like continuous structure; (B) one part by weight to fifty parts by weight of an emulsifier; and (C) twenty-five parts by weight to two thousand parts by weight of water.

Emulsion coating agent composition and coated products thereof

A primer composition for a polysiloxane hard coating is provided. This primer composition comprises (A) a vinyl polymer having a hydrolyzable silyl group and/or SiOH group and an organic UV absorbing group bonded to its side chain, and (B) fine silica particles dispersed in an organic solvent, and the primer layer formed after coating and curing has a coefficient of linear expansion of up to 150&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C.

A photoreactive group-containing siloxane compound is obtained by subjecting a system comprising (a) a photoreactive group-containing alkoxysilane and (b) a hydrolyzable group end-capped dimethylsiloxane to hydrolytic condensation in the presence of a basic catalyst and with an amount of water greater than the amount necessary for hydrolytic condensation of all alkoxy groups. It forms on a substrate a coating having mar resistance, crack resistance, anti-staining effect, and marker ink wipe-off ability.

A method of producing an organosilylamine containing a radiation-polymerizable functional group that is useful as a surface treatment agent is provided. The method includes reacting an organosilylamine containing a haloalkyl group, and at least one salt having a radiation-polymerizable functional group selected from the group consisting of alkali metal salts of organic acids having a radiation-polymerizable functional group and alkaline earth metal salts of organic acids having a radiation-polymerizable functional group, at a temperature within a range from 50 to 150&#xb0; C. An organosilylamine containing a radiation-polymerizable functional group composed of a specific silazane unit is also provided.

Method of producing organosilylamine containing radiation-polymerizable functional group and organosilylamine containing radiation-polymerizable functional group

A curable composition comprises (A) an organic/inorganic composite in which a hydrolyzable silyl group and/or SiOH group-containing polysiloxane is bonded to a vinyl polymer through a Si&#x2014;C bond, and (B) an organic UV absorber having a molecular weight of at least 500 and a weight retentivity of at least 95% when held at 150&#xb0; C. for 24 hours in an open state. The curable composition is coated and cured to an article, whereby the article is endowed with satisfactory weathering resistance while minimizing coloration or degradation.

A composite resin is produced by hydrolyzing and condensing a silane compound (2) containing a bissilane compound (B) represented by:XRSi&#x2014;Y&#x2014;SiRX&#x2003;&#x2003;(B)wherein Y is a divalent organic group which is optionally substituted with a fluorine atom or a divalent organic group which optionally contains an aromatic ring, R is a monovalent organic group, X is OH group or a hydrolyzable group, and n is 1, 2, or 3; in the presence of (1) porous and/or hollow inorganic oxide fine particles (A); and which is an integral mixture of component (1) and component (2) which has undergone the hydrolysis and the condensation. The composite resin has voids in the resin since it contains porous and/or hollow inorganic oxide fine particles, and the composite resin can also be formed into a cured article or a cured coating with a reduced refractive index since it contains air which has the lowest refractive index.

A perfluoropolyether rubber composition is useful for forming a polymer electrolyte membrane, comprising (A) an alkenyl-containing perfluoropolyether, (B) a silicon-oxygen crosslinked structure having ionic conduction, and (C) a peroxide crosslinker. The silicon-oxygen crosslinked structure is obtained by simultaneously effecting oxidation and hydrolysis on an organoxysilane having an epoxy group and an organoxysilane having a mercapto group for thereby converting the mercapto group into a sulfonic group, and neutralizing the resulting sulfonic group-containing siloxane with a nitrogen-containing compound.

A photocurable and thermosetting coating composition which is solventless and liquid at room temperature is provided. This coating composition provides scratch resistance, crack resistance, smudge resistance, and removability of oil-base felted markers by wiping with the underlying substrate, and this coating composition contains a silicone resin represented by:(RRRSiO)(RRSiO)(RSiO)(SiO)(OX)&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)wherein X is hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; Rto Rare respectively at least one monovalent organic group which is a monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group or a monovalent aromatic hydrocarbon group optionally substituted with a substituent such as a poly(hexafluoropropylene oxide) structure-containing group; a, b, d, and e are 0 or a positive number; c is a positive number; and a+b+c+d is 1. An anti-smudge agent which is added to a coating composition for imparting smudge proof property with the coating composition, comprising a silicone resin containing a fluorine atom-containing organic group, which has a number average molecular weight of at least 1,000 and a molar ratio of the fluorine atom to the silicon atom (F/Si) of 3 to 50, said silicone resin being produced by hydrolyzing or condensing an organosilicon compound having a fluorine atom-containing organic group represented by the following general formula (I):RRSiX&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)wherein Ris a fluorine atom-containing organic substituent, Ris a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or phenyl group containing 1 to 10 carbon atoms, X is a hydrolyzable group or OH group, and m is 0 or 1; or a hydrolysate or a partial condensate thereof.

Anti-smudge agent, smudge proof coating composition, smudge proof film, and article coated with smudge proof film

A thermosetting resin composition which forms a cured coating is provided. This resin composition is capable of providing the supporting substrate with scratch resistance, crack resistance, smudge proof property, removability of oil-base felted markers by wiping, and antistatic property. Also provided is an article having a coating formed from such composition. More specifically, the photocurable resin composition comprises (1) a siloxane compound containing a photoreactive group produced by hydrolyzing and condensing a system comprising (a) photoreactive group-containing hydrolyzable silane represented by formula (i) or (ii), with the proviso that, when one hydrolyzable silane is used, the silane comprises a trifunctional silane, and when two or more silanes are used, at least 70% by mole comprise a trifunctional silane, (b) a dimethylsiloxane containing a hydrolyzable group at opposite ends represented by formula (iii), and (c) a fluorine-containing hydrolyzable silane represented by formula (iv) in the presence of a basic catalyst by using water at an amount in excess of the amount required for hydrolyzing and condensing all hydrolyzable groups; (3) (CF(CF)SO)NLi (wherein m is 0 to 7); and (4) a radical photopolymerization initiator. The article has a coating formed from this composition.

An organopolysiloxane having triazinethiol and alkenyl radicals in a molecule and a primer composition comprising the same are provided. The primer composition assists in establishing a high bond strength between metal and silicone rubber by the mechanism that the triazinethiol moieties form strong chemical bonds with a difficult-to-bond metal such as gold, silver or copper, and the alkenyl moieties are involved in silicone rubber vulcanization.
