A multilayer ceramic capacitor connected to an output electrode and an input electrode of a mounting substrate includes a laminated body. In the laminating direction of the laminated body, the shortest distance from an outer first internal electrode to the surface of an external electrode on the side closer to a first principal surface, and the shortest distance from an outer second internal electrode to the surface of an external electrode on the side closer to a second principal surface are each about 40 &#x3bc;m or less. In the width direction of the laminated body, the shortest distance from an end of an internal electrode to the surface of the external electrode on the side closer to a first side surface, and the shortest distance from an end of an internal electrode to the surface of the external electrode on the side closer to a second side surface are each about 40 &#x3bc;m or less.

Mounting substrate

A ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic element, a first inner electrode, a second inner electrode, an outer electrode, and a first auxiliary electrode. The first auxiliary electrode extends to a first surface of the ceramic element. The first inner electrode extends along a first direction on the first surface. The first auxiliary electrode extends outward from the region where the first inner electrode is disposed in the first direction on the first surface. The outer electrode covers the first inner electrode and the first auxiliary electrode.

Ceramic electronic component and ceramic electronic apparatus including a split inner electrode

A first terminal electrode extends from a second principal surface onto first and second side surfaces and a first end surface such as not to reach a first principal surface. A second terminal electrode extends from the second principal surface onto the first and second side surfaces and a second end surface such as not to reach the first principal surface. In a monolithic ceramic capacitor, the size of end surfaces of a capacitor body in a two-dimensional surface in which ceramic layers extend is greater than the size of side surfaces in the two-dimensional surface in which the ceramic layers extend. External terminal electrodes include a resistive component. In each of first to fourth internal electrodes, a width-direction size of a lead-out portion is less than a width-direction size of a capacitance portion. The lead-out portions of the first and third internal electrodes and the lead-out portions of the second and fourth internal electrodes are arranged so as to partially overlap each other or not to overlap each other.

Monolithic ceramic capacitor

A multilayer capacitor includes a laminate of ceramic layers, and a capacitor unit provided in the laminate. In the multilayer capacitor, the relationships P&#x2267;Ra and P&#x2267;W are established, wherein P represents the average projection height of first and second via conductors from the upper surface, Ra represents the surface roughness of the upper surface, and W represents an amount of curvature of the laminate. Further, the projecting portions of the first and second via conductors projecting from the upper surface are buried in first and second external electrodes, respectively.

Multilayer capacitor

In an LW-reverse-type monolithic ceramic capacitor including external terminal electrodes each including a resistance component, internal electrodes include nickel or a nickel alloy, and the external terminal electrodes each include a first layer, a second layer provided on the first layer, and a third layer provided on the second layer. The first layer has a wrap-around portion extending from an end surface to principal surfaces and side surfaces of a capacitor main body, and contains a glass component and a compound oxide that reacts with Ni or the Ni alloy. The second layer covers the first layer such that the edge of the wrap-around portion of the first layer remains exposed, and contains a metal. The third layer covers the edge of the wrap-around portion of the first layer and the second layer, and is formed by plating.

A monolithic capacitor includes a laminate of ceramic layers, the laminate having first and second surfaces, at least one pair of first and second internal electrodes, first and second external electrodes disposed on the first surface, third and fourth external electrodes disposed on the second surface, a first via conductor that electrically connects the first external electrode to the first internal electrode and to the third external electrode and that contains a metal oxide, and a second via conductor that electrically connects the second external electrode to the second internal electrode and to the fourth external electrode and that contains a metal oxide, wherein, in each of the first and second via conductors, the metal oxide content at an end on the second surface side is higher than the metal oxide content at a center or at an end on the first surface side.

In a method of producing a multi-terminal type laminated ceramic electronic component in which internal electrodes are embedded in a sintered ceramic member, and the internal electrodes have plural first lead-out electrodes led out to a first side surface and plural second lead-out electrodes led out to a second side surface, the plural second lead-out electrodes of one of the adjacent internal electrodes in each internal electrode pattern are not continuous with the plural first lead-out electrodes of the other of the adjacent internal electrodes, and the plural second lead-out electrodes and the plural first lead-out electrodes are alternately arranged in a direction that is substantially perpendicular to the direction of a line connecting the first and second side surfaces.

Method of producing multi-terminal type laminated ceramic electronic component

An apparatus is provided for packaging a laminated capacitor made to have a low ESL value and is used for a decoupling capacitor to be connected to a power supply circuit for a MPU chip providing a MPU. The laminated capacitor is accommodated within a cavity provided on a wiring board. The capacitor includes a plurality of first external terminal electrodes connected to first internal electrodes via a plurality of first feedthrough conductors and a plurality of second external terminal electrodes connected to second internal electrodes via a plurality of second feedthrough conductors. The first external terminal electrodes provided on a first major surface of a capacitor body are connected to via-hole conductors at the hot side for the power source within a substrate, and the second external terminal electrodes provided on first and second major surfaces are connected to grounding via-hole conductors and a mother board within the substrate.

Wiring connection structure of laminated capacitor and decoupling capacitor, and wiring board

A multi-layer capacitor includes first and second side-surface terminal electrodes alternately arranged on four side surfaces of a capacitor body. First and second major-surface terminal electrodes are arranged on a major surface of the capacitor body. First and second internal electrodes which are opposed to each other within the capacitor body are respectively electrically connected at ends thereof to the first and second side-surface terminal electrodes, and are also respectively electrically connected to the first and second major-surface terminal electrodes through via hole conductors. With this arrangement, the directions of the currents flowing within the multi-layer capacitor are diversified, and the lengths of current-carrying paths are shortened so as to achieve a very low ESL value.

Multi-layer capacitor, wiring board, and high-frequency circuit

A circuit substrate includes resistive films are disposed on the surfaces of lands included in a circuit pattern and these resistive films are used as resistances connected in series to a capacitor. Therefore, the resistances are connected in series without increasing the inductance in the capacitor, and accordingly, a circuit having a small impedance variation with respect to frequency can be obtained. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a power supply circuit and so forth having stable operation and fast response.

Circuit substrate having resistive films connecting external terminals in series with lands

A laminated capacitor has an end surface pitch Pe, which defines an interval between adjacent first and second external terminal electrodes disposed on end surfaces having shorter sides in a body of a laminated capacitor, which is equal to or less than about 0.9 times of a side-surface pitch Ps, which defines an interval between adjacent first and second external terminal electrodes disposed on side surfaces having longer sides, in order to enhance the effect of magnetic-flux cancellation at the end surfaces and to reduce the equivalent series inductance of the whole laminated capacitor.
