A waterproof structure of a wire harness includes at least one bundle of an electric wire group in which a plurality of electric wires are linearly arranged, a damming part made of a hard resin material, the damming part which surrounds a part of the electric wire group in an extension direction of the electric wire group and which includes an outer periphery shape part according to a shape of a trapezoidal through hole in an electric wire group insertion part with a divided structure, and a water stop material which prevents water from entering a gap between the electric wire group insertion part and the outer periphery shape part and which is formed on an inner peripheral surface of the through hole.

Waterproof structure of wire harness

A fuse box has a fuse cavity for receiving the body of a blade type fuse having blade-like male terminals projecting from the body into an insertion direction of the blade type fuse. The body of blade type fuse has opposed ends extending into the insertion direction and a side rib provided on each of the opposed ends and extending into the insertion direction. The fuse cavity has opposed walls for receiving therebetween the opposed ends of the blade type fuse when the blade type fuse is inserted. The fuse cavity also has two pairs of second ribs on the opposed walls, each pair being positioned to define a receiving groove therebetween for receiving the side rib of the blade type fuse.

A resilient terminal with a buckling prevention mechanism has a pair of electric contact portions that are interconnected through a flexible joint portion. The flexible joint portion is protected against buckling because an excess bending of the joint portion is blocked by an abutment portion on one of the electric contact portions abutting against the other electric contact portion.

A device for locking a pair of connectors to each other, in which a locking unit which is attached to the housing of one of the connectors in a pivotable manner, and is biased by a spring in a direction tending to unlock the connectors from each other. The locking unit includes a pair of support portions and a plate spring engagement portion. Support members are provided on the housing for receiving the support portion and a plate spring is resiliently disposed between the engagement portion and the housing.

Connector locking mechanism

A resilient terminal with a buckling prevention mechanism has a pair of electric contact portions that are interconnected through a flexible joint portion. The pair of contact portions are provided with abutment portions that are disposed opposite to each other with a small gap therebetween. When there is a misalignment between the mating terminals or when an excessive insertion force is applied, the flexible joint portion of the terminal deflects to allow the male terminal to be inserted therein. The flexible joint portion, however, is protected against buckling because an excess bending of the joint portion is blocked by the abutment portions abutting against each other. At the same time, one of the abutment portions slides on the other, correcting the terminal misalignment and ensuring reliable terminal engagement.

Locking member for an electrical connector

The electric junction box of this invention has a plurality of connector receiving sockets mounted on its insulating box. Selected one of the connector receiving sockets, or the first connector receiving socket, is attached with a locking cover, which is urged by a spring to lie flat over the adjacent or second connector receiving socket. A first connector can be assembled onto the first socket but a second connector cannot be connected to the second socket unless the locking cover is erected and locked onto the first connector. To rule out the slightest possibility of erroneous connection sequence, a connection sequence check member is provided to the second connector. Should the second connector be assembled onto the mating socket first, prior to the first connector, by erecting the locking cover, the connection sequence check member abuts against the back of the locking cover to cause the locking cover to advance in the way of the first connector, so that the first connector is blocked and cannot be assembled onto the associated socket, alerting the assembly worker to the wrong sequence of the connector assembly.

A wire harness assembly is disclosed in which a wire harness having a primary wire bundle and a plurality of branch wires branched from the primary wire bundle is received in a wire protective casing composed of a casing body and a casing cover along with the arrangement configuration of the wire harness. A plurality of engagement holes are formed in the protective casing, corresponding to connectors provided at terminal ends of the branch wires. Cushion arms that are engaged with the engagement holes are formed on outer walls of housings of the connectors, so that the connectors are displaceable relative to the engagement holes.

A watertight and leak-proof junction box for use, for example, in vehicles such as automobiles, and a process of assembling such a junction box are provided. The wiring board assembly comprising a plurality of insulating plates, wiring conductors strips and electric contacts formed by raising the free ends of the strips so as to project from the outer surface of the wiring plate pile which is embedded in an insulating resin through molding to form a resin-embedded wiring board assembly prior to assembling the junction box, and then the resin-embedded wiring board assembly joined with a connector support board having connector bodies for receiving the terminals of electrical units and/or wire harnesses is contained in a watertight case. A leak preventing wall is formed so as to surround the base portion of each electric contacts, so that the flow of leak current between the adjacent contacts is prevented even if water intrudes into the watertight case and spreads over the outer surface of the wiring board assembly.

Junction box and a process of assembling the same

A sealing material receiving structure in a junction block for use on a vehicle or the like is provided. The junction block comprises a top cover provided with a connector or connectors, or a wiring board; a bottom cover provided with a connector or connectors, or a wiring board; an insulating plate or plates provided with bus bars having tab terminals, and placed between the top and bottom covers; and an elastic plate-shaped packing placed between the lowermost insulating plate and the bottom cover. Rectangular enclosures are formed integrally with the packing so as to surround holes for receiving the tab terminals formed in the packing. Holes for receiving the enclosures therein, respectively, are formed in the bottom cover. The dimensions of the enclosures, the tab terminals, the holes formed in the packing, and the holes formed in the bottom cover are determined selectively so that the tab terminals fit the holes formed in the packing and the enclosures tight, and the enclosures fit the holes formed in the bottom cover tight.

An ultra multi-pole connector includes a plurality of small size multi-pole connectors each having a connector housing which has a plurality of terminals connected to a plurality of wires therein and engagement shoulders projecting from the upper portion of the connector housing, and a casing having a plurality of hollow sections to which said small size multi-pole connectors are mounted, respectively, and each of said hollow section having an engagement members, thereby the small size multi-pole connectors can be displaceably mounted in the hollow sections by engagement of the engagement shoulders and the engagement members.
