An apparatus for sorting sheets on a tray in which a stacking position of sheets is changed for each set number of sheets to one of different stacking positions on the tray, includes a movable pressing member coming in contact with a discharging roller on its low position so that a discharging speed of the sheet is reduced, a movable lower guide plate so that the lower guide plate is positioned lower than a upper portion of the discharging roller on its low position; a sensor to detect a passage of a sheet; and a driving device to move the lower guide plate and the pressing member in response to a signal from the sensor.

Sheet sorting apparatus

A recording sheet finisher in use with an image forming apparatus such as a copier. The recording sheet finisher includes a stacker for stacking recording sheets, an aligning member for aligning the bundle of the recording sheets on the stacker, a counter for counting a number of the recording sheets bundled on the stacker, and a controller for controlling the aligning member so that the aligning member aligns the bundle of recording sheets after a first predetermined time period after the last one of the recording sheets is conveyed onto the other ones when the number of recording sheets bundled on the stacker is 25 or more, and aligns the bundle after a second predetermined time period when the number is not less than 25.

Recording sheet finishing apparatus

A copying machine equipped with an automatic document feeding device has a document stacker on which a plurality of documents can be stacked, a feeding section in which a sheet of document is separated from plural documents stacked on the document stacker and is fed to an image reading section, a conveyance section in which the document fed to the image reading section is conveyed and is stopped at a predetermined image reading position and then the document, after being read, is conveyed, and a sheet-ejecting section which is located at the downstream side in the conveyance direction from the image feeding section and ejects the document fed out of the conveyance section to a delivery tray. A document trailing edge detector is provided on the document stacker, a pass of the trailing edge of the last document on the document stacker is detected, and detection signals therefrom are sent to a main body of the copying machine to control a sheet feeding of the sheet feeding section of the copying machine.

Copying machine having automatic document feeding device

For use in a photocopying machine, an apparatus for making punch holes in and stapling recording sheets comprising, a first conveyer by which the recording sheets are conveyed to a sheet stacker which is capable of setting the recording sheets at a predetermined position for sheet processing, a sheet processor which has a hole puncher and a stapler by which the recording sheets are processed to have punch holes or to be stapled, or both, in which the hole puncher is provided with an angled panel attached below a die of the hole puncher so that paper pieces punched from punch holes are received without clogging into a container for disposal, and a second conveyer by which the processed sheets are conveyed to a sheet receiving tray.
