An other vehicle position estimation apparatus for estimating the position of another vehicle on the road using a particle filtering process includes an other vehicle map matcher and a particle number controller. The other vehicle map matcher includes an updater for updating the position of a particle distributed on a map, a likelihood calculator for calculating the likelihood of the particle position, and a position estimator configured to estimate the position of the other vehicle based on the position of the particle. The particle number controller determines a number of particles to distribute based on at least one of (i) a relative positional relationship between a subject vehicle and the other vehicle, (ii) an actual vehicle speed of the other vehicle, (iii) a distribution state of the particles, and (iv) a relationship between the position of the other vehicle and the road.

An information request describing an attribute of necessary data is distributed from a center server to a mobile terminal via an edge server; the mobile terminal transmits data, which is requested in the information request, to the edge server; the edge server notifies the center server to the effect that the data, which is requested in the information request, has been acquired; the center server distributes, with respect to data acquired by the edge server from the mobile terminal, non-necessity information indicating that collection of the data is unnecessary to the edge server and to the mobile terminal via the edge server; and when the mobile terminal receives the non-necessity information, the mobile terminal suspends acquisition of data, of which collection is deemed unnecessary in the non-necessity information, and, when the data is stored, discards the data.

An apparatus which transfers information transmitted from a master node or addressed to the master node, comprises a generation unit that generates an assessment value representing logical proximity to the master node; a transmit unit that sends/receives the assessment value to/from other apparatuses; and a communication unit that, when this apparatus is an apparatus that is logically closest to the master node within a communication range, transmit information having the master node as a transmission source to other apparatuses or receive information addressed to the master node from the other apparatuses; otherwise, transmit information addressed to the master node to the logically closest apparatus or receive information having the master node as a transmission source from the logically closest apparatus.
