A method of checking the functioning of a driving wheel slip control system installed in a vehicle. Driving wheels are placed on support rollers and rotatably supported thereby. The driving wheels are driven by the engine. False signals indicative of tentative rotational speeds of trailing wheels are supplied to an ECU which in turn outputs a control signal for controlling the engine. Predetermined monitoring signals including at least the control signal output from the ECU are taken out from the driving wheel slip control system. It is determined whether the predetermined monitoring signals show values falling within respective predetermined allowable ranges. Further, a steering handle of the vehicle may be turned at the same time of rotation of the driving wheels, the steering angle of which is detected by a steering angle sensor. Further, instead of using the false signals, the trailing wheels may be placed on second support rollers for rotatably supporting the trailing wheels thereby. The second support rollers are capable of rotatively driving the trailing wheels.

A suction gas heater control device for an engine comprising first detector for detecting when the engine is brought into complete firing, and for providing a signal in response thereto; a first timer coupled to the output of the first detector for continuously providing a first operating signal for a predetermined period of time after a first period of time, the first period of time starting with the beginning of the inputting of a signal from the first detector and ending with the stopping of the signal from the first detector; a second detector for detecting engine temperature and for providing a second operating signal when the engine temperature is lower than a predetermined level; and a judgement circuit means coupled to the first timer and the second detector for providing a signal for operating a suction gas heater, when the first operating signal is applied thereto and when the second operating signal which indicates that at least one of the temperature of the engine is lower than a predetermined level.

A hollow space of limited volume is defined in the central aperture formed through a heat-conducting plate, held in contact with a planar temperature-responsive resistance element, to receive the bimetal and heater supporting shaft. By varying the diameter and/or the length of the space, the rates of heat transmission from the heater to the bimetal and the resistance element can be properly correlated with each other so that any premature current control or overheating is effectively prevented.
