A projector of a reflection type has a Fresnel lens disposed under a stage surface on which a transparency is set. A light source is disposed under the Fresnel lens, and illuminates the stage surface through the Fresnel lens. An illuminating mirror is disposed in a position higher than the stage surface, reflects light passed through the transparency after emanation from the light source, and illuminates the transparency downwards. A projection lens projects an image of the transparency via the Fresnel lens to a screen. A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel is disposed so that the stage surface lies thereon, and displays an image to be projected to the screen. The LCD panel is transparent when the transparency is set on the stage surface, and enables projection of the image.

Projector of a reflection type

A cam mechanism according to the present invention is constructed in such a way that a face cam is secured to a rotary shaft which is rotated by a motor, and a pressing cam, which is movable along the rotary shaft, presses a cam follower pin toward a cam face of the face cam. The press cam has a cam face which faces the cam face of the face cam and has the same cam curve as that of the face cam. Hence, when the motor rotates, the swing pin follows the cam face of the face cam, and the press cam presses the swing pin with a substantially constant force while remains stationary at substantially the same position. Thus, it is possible to reduce a contact friction on the cam face and a load torque which is generated when the motor is driven, and it is also possible to eliminate the unevenness of the torque, which results from the movement of the cam follower which moves up and down on the cam face.

Cam mechanism

A warning system of a camera for providing a photographer a warning indicating an impediment to a window, provided in a front wall of the camera, through which light traveling toward and/or from a subject passes. It includes a touch sensor, disposed in close proximity to the window, which involves a resistance, or a body capacity, of a photographer's finger touching the sensor in, and as a part of, an electric circuit. This provides a change in electric parameter of the circuit by which a warning device is actuated to emit light, or otherwise generate sound, as the warning of impediment.

A projector of a reflection type has a transparent stage plate on which a transparent original sheet is set. A lamp illuminates the original sheet through the stage plate. A Fresnel mirror is laid on an upside of the original sheet, and reflects light from the original sheet in a convergent manner. The light from the Fresnel mirror is reflected away from the stage plate. The light is again reflected, and incident upon a projecting lens, which projects an image of the original sheet to a screen. A housing contains the Fresnel mirror in movable fashion. An inserting slot is formed in the housing, into which the original sheet is inserted during supply of the original sheet. Photo sensors operate to detect a front edge of the original sheet inserted through the inserting slot. It is also detected that the original sheet is set on the stage plate. An ejector switch is operated for ejection of the original sheet. A solenoid shifts the Fresnel mirror up away from a set position in response to a signal from the photo sensors or the ejector switch. The Fresnel mirror is shifted down to the set position in response to a sheet setting signal, to lie on the original sheet. A sheet feeder roller moves the original sheet from the inserting slot to the stage plate during the supply, and moves the original sheet out of the housing during the ejection of the original sheet.

Projector of reflection type

A reflection prevention film coats a backside of a stage glass by a vacuum evaporation and coating, etc. A light from a metal halide lamp is not reflected on the back of the stage glass by the reflection preventing film, and is transmitted through the stage glass and is reflected on a surface of the stage glass and a transparent manuscript. The light reflected on the surface of the stage glass and the transparent manuscript enters a projection lens unit and appears as a spot light on a screen, but because the light is not reflected on the backside of the stage glass, so that the amount of the light, which causes the spot light, can be reduced. As a result, the spot light on the screen is inconspicuous.

Reflection type projector

An overhead projector has a stage on which original material is placed. The stage has a Fresnel mirror. An electrostatic attracting structure is integral with the Fresnel mirror. The attracting structure includes a conductive membrane of ceramic and a resinous dielectric/protective layer. The conductive membrane consists of a pair of comb-shaped electrodes, which interfinger in coplanar fashion, and are covered by the dielectric/protective layer for insulation and protection. A power supply device applies a high voltage of direct current to the electrodes. The original material is attracted electrostatically by the electrodes, and can be kept flat on the stage. In a preferred embodiment, the power supply device incorporates a self-starting blocking oscillator, which is adapted to boost the voltage sufficiently for electrostatic attraction.

Overhead projector

A magneto-optical disk comprises a substrate and at least a magneto-optical recording layer provided on the substrate. A moisture barrier layer constituted of a fluorine resin is provided on the surface of the substrate on the side opposite to the substrate surface on which the magneto-optical recording layer is provided.

A magneto-optical recording medium comprises a transparent substrate, a magneto-optical recording layer formed on the transparent substrate and containing a rare earth metal-transition metal alloy, and a thin film containing at least either one of platinum and palladium and formed at least on one surface of the magneto-optical recording layer. Or, the magneto-optical recording medium comprises the transparent substrate, and a magneto-optical recording layer formed on the transparent substrate by alternately overlaying a plurality of thin layers containing a rare earth metal-transition metal alloy, and a plurality of thin layers containing at least either one of platinum and palladium.

Magneto-optical recording medium with at least one protective layer

A method of making a magneto-optical recording medium comprises the step of forming a magneto-optical recording layer on a substrate by simultaneously carrying out direct current sputtering and radio-frequency sputtering. Alternatively, a magneto-optical recording layer composed of thin rare earth metal layers and thin transition metal layers overlaid alternately on a substrate is formed by carrying out radio-frequency sputtering by use of a target formed of a rare earth metal material and direct current sputtering by use of a target formed of a transition metal material.

Method of making magneto-optical recording medium

A magneto-optical recording medium comprises a recording layer formed of a magnetic material, and a protective layer composed of a combination of a dielectric material with a rare earth metal exhibiting a high oxygen absorptivity and formed on the recording layer by a simultaneous sputtering or a simultaneous deposition process, whereby free oxygen given rise to in the course of sputtering or deposition is absorbed on the protective layer side before being absorbed on the recording layer side.

Magneto-optical recording medium

A magneto-optical recording medium comprises a transparent substrate and a magneto-optical recording layer overlaid on the transparent substrate. The magneto-optical recording layer is formed by alternately overlaying a plurality of thin layers containing a rare earth metal-transition metal alloy for magneto-optical recording, and a plurality of thin layers containing at least one metal selected from the group consisting of gold, silver, lead, magnesium, copper, and iridium which are solid solution non-formable metals.

A magneto-optical recording medium comprises a substrate, a magneto-optical recording layer formed of a rare earth metal-transition metal alloy and a dielectric protective layer overlaid in this order on the substrate, and a rare earth metal layer overlaid on an edge face of the magneto-optical recording layer. The magneto-optical recording medium wherein the substrate is annular is made by forming the magneto-optical recording layer, covering the recording region on the magneto-optical recording layer with an annular mask having an outer diameter not larger than the outer diameter of the magneto-optical recording layer and/or an inner diameter not smaller than the inner diameter of the magneto-optical recording layer, overlaying the rare earth metal layer on an outer edge face and/or an inner edge face of the magneto-optical recording layer by dispersing rare earth metal particles toward the annular mask, removing the annular mask, and overlaying the dielectric protective layer on the magneto-optical recording layer.

Magneto-optical recording medium and method of making the same

An optical disk substrate has a surface on which a pre-groove for light beam tracking is formed. Non-pregrooved regions on the substrate surface on which the pregroove is formed are subjected to surface roughing processing to improve adhesion of the substrate surface in the non-pregrooved regions to a film which is to be overlaid on the optical disk substrate.

A method of making a magneto-optical recording medium comprises the steps of moving a rotating substrate along a first dielectric target, at least one rare earth metal target, and a second dielectric target which are disposed in this order from an upstream side toward the downstream side in an in-line sputtering apparatus, and carrying out simultaneous sputtering on the substrate in the course of the movement of the substrate by use of the first dielectric target and the rare earth metal target. Thereafter, sputtering is carried out on the substrate by use of the rare earth metal target. Then, simultaneous sputtering is carried out on the substrate by use of the rare earth metal target and the second dielectric target.
