C for a time ranging from 5 to 30 minutes at 135.degree. C to 2 to 6 hours at 75.degree. C and (b) an activating agent for the sodium percarbonate.

A bleaching composition is disclosed characterized by containing sodium percarbonate which was treated by subjecting it to heating at a temperature of 75.degree. to 135.degree.C, for a heating time ranging (1) from 2 to 6 hours at 75.degree.C to (2) 5 to 30 minutes at 135.degree.C.
