A cover plate assembly for wall-mounted electrical wiring devices includes a plate frame disposed on a wall surface as surrounding a wall opening in the wall surface. The wall opening is provided to receive therein one or more electrical wiring devices such as switches. The plate frame has a window through which a portion of the wiring device extends outwardly. A face plate is placed over the plate frame to entirely conceal the same. The face plate is made from a plastic material and has a center opening through which a portion of the electrical wiring device is exposed to be accessible from outside of said face plate. Also included in the assembly is an under plate which is to be fixed with respect to the wall surface for holding said plate frame therebetween. The under plate is made from a flat metal stamping and secured to the rear of the face plate for reinforcement of the same.

Cover plate assembly for wall-mounted electrical wiring devices

A wall bracket for mounting wiring devices comprises a flat frame having first and second jambs which define therebetween an opening for receiving the body portions of the wiring devices. The wiring device has a strap having mounting ears projecting on either side of the device and is attached to the frame with the mounting ears engaged into first and second slots formed in the frame. The first slots are formed in the first jamb and open to the opening for receiving the mounting ears on one side of the device. The second slots for receiving the mounting ears on the other side of the device are formed in a resilient strip extending along the second jamb in spaced relation outwardly thereof. The resilient strip is integrally connected at its longitudinal ends to the ends of the second jamb respectively through U-shaped hinge sections which are bent within the plane of the frame so that the resilient strip is capable of flexing outwardly within that plane to permit the snap engagement of the mounting ears into the second slots. With the hinge connections within the plane of the frame, it is possible to minimize the amount of rearward projection of the resilient strip yet assuring the snap engagement due to the flexing of the resilient strip.

Bracket for mounting wiring devices

A wiring-device mounting structure wherein outer decorative and inner laying plates are coupled to each other through relatively short, hooked engaging projections on inner surface of the decorative plate which are engaged with mounds on the laying plate which are raised to be close at raised top face to the inner surface of the decorative plate when coupled and to provide at side wall a locking face for hooked ends of the projections, whereby the raised mounds positioned in coupling zone between the both plates can minimize coupling distance between them and also the length of the engaging projections, so as to maintain the projections to be highly durable.

Wiring-device mounting structure

An air- and dust-proof cover for a flush mounting wiring fixture comprises a housing part having cylindrical parts respectively extended inward and outward from the housing part and having therein a flexible thin-wall portion for penetrating therethrough connecting wires to be connected to terminals of the wiring fixture to be housed in the housing part, the wires being thus passed through the flexible thin-wall portion broken by the wires as guided by the cylindrical parts, with any possibility of cracking of the housing part at such wire passing portion or of deterioration of the airtightness due to contraction of the housing part accompanying ambient temperature change effectively eliminated.

Air- and dust-proof cover for flush mounting wiring fixture

A two bulb lamp socket is provided with a housing which defines a first recess and first and second insertion openings below the recess. A switch for switching bulbs on and off is located in the recess. Each insertion opening is provided with a contact in the upper central portion of the opening, and with a side contact on the sides of the openings. Each opening is provided with an insulated engaging means for mechanically engaging a bulb which is screwed into the opening.
